Re: What is the deal with the KEY?
Good Morning, I am new here and want some information about the purchased version. I have noticed users recommending your product with 5-star ratings, but it has more functions, which can be confusing. Additionally, when I downloaded the beta version, a pop-up message read This version is outdated....

Re: What is the deal with the KEY?
Good for you, and I truly hope you're not disappointed. Since learning that MakeMKV is from Russia , I'd feel more comfortable if the software were open source. Nothing against Russians individually, but the country does seem to be home to some unscrupulous people. That said, based on posts from th...

Re: [Feature Request] Preserve CEA-608 Closed Captions in MPEG-2 video streams
I am on both sides of this fence. I definitely saw plenty of bad subtitles/captions before which needed correcting, but I also enjoy the positioning/styling/coloring options of the picture formats. Perhaps I should explore an option to edit those picture formats instead of converting them to plain ...

Re: Makemkv is super slow on version 1.18.1
I am not experiencing that issue, nor did I see any other reports of other people experiencing it which I would guess there would be plenty by now. I occasionally experience issues with MakeMKV behaving similar to how you describe, but it causes no other issues for me. I solve the issue with MakeMKV...

Re: New To MKV- Need help flashing
The OP in the link you posted, KlatuVerataNikto, posted a picture of their MakeMKV screen showing the drive internals as the LG based MT1959 platform. The '2nd to the last post' post (on page 1), from d00zah, is correct for folks to help themselves flashing their own drive with the appropriate LG p...

Re: Multiple Audio Tracks
Example: The 7.1 stream is DTS:X and the playback device supports only Dolby or supports plain DTS but not DTS:X. Having a fallback can be helpful in those situations. Due to how DTS-HD and DTS-X are encoded, you don't need to rip the core separately; the audio stream includes the core, and any pla...

Re: MakeMKV, just BUY it already.....
So, like many of you I suspect, I have been an avid user of MakeMKV for a number of years. This single piece of software has allowed me to digitize nearly every movie & tv show I own which was the catalyst to me finally creating my own streaming server that has granted me access to my purchased...

Re: New To MKV- Need help flashing
I don't believe SDFtool flasher is compatible with your Pioneer drive. I would PM Coopervid with your specs in order to get custom flashing instructions for your drive. Maybe Billy's flashing tool would work for this. PM people? ... Following the link I provided in my prior post, the 2nd to the las...

Re: Split large file with multiple episodes into separate files?
There isn't a dedicated AI splitter app as far as I am aware, but I know ChatGPT will give you some timestamps (roughly speaking) if you provide it with information such as the exact blu-ray set. There's a way to have these imported as bookmarks and then you can fine-tune things to get the exact ti...

Re: Multiple Audio Tracks
Is there any benefit to getting all relevant audio tracks? For instance one of my first rips has Dolby 7.1, 5.1 and stereo. VLC seems to handle them all fine with only the 2 speakers at my computer. I assume most any halfway decent modern software will do the same. I think the Dolby 7.1 stream soun...

Re: Split large file with multiple episodes into separate files?
Thanks, I"ll take a look at that. Maybe somewhere out there is an AI-based tool which would automate the process? To clarify, it is not "MKVnix" but "MKVToolNix". I am aware of no AI tool to automate what you want. However, what you describe is much less common, and MKVTool...

Re: What is the deal with the KEY?
Someone posting a link in a forum is not the same as the link being on the MakeMKV website. I don't see the purchase link on MakeMKV right now. Then again, I don't remember exactly where it was located previously, but I am having a hard time finding it. Do you see the link? The poster that said it ...

Re: Is MakeMKV Still Alive? Can't Buy License, Beta Key Expired
I was just about to make a purchase and the link doesn't work. Kinda wonder if Mike's ok? Many of us are wanting to purchase but are unable. Dozens of threads by other people who tried to purchase but got no key or want to purchase but the purchase page is disabled. Unfortunately the payment proces...
