Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
I'm going to presume so, but for confirmation will MakeMKV now successfully rip Dolby Vision from an ISO image as opposed to the physical disc? It wasn't clear in the Joker posts whether the ISO was being used for this particular purpose.

Re: Feature Request: Disable automatic disk scan
Adding a +1 for this. I rip everything to ISO first and since I have two drives if I get a 2-disc set then I can't start MakeMKV until the second ISO has finished ripping or it can cause problems with the drive that's active.

Re: HDDVD Rip DD+ Compatibility Issues
I haven't had to deal with this in forever as I ended up converting my DD+ tracks on HD-DVD to FLAC for compatibility purposes because of this exact same issue, but I do remember it was one studio in particular whose discs all had the same issue on a bunch of AVRs.

Re: Splice two MKV files without altering audio?
MKVtoolnix can do this. You have to choose the right mode to get it to append the tracks, and you also have to have the same tracks in the same order for it to properly append them all. I've done this loads of times. You can also get the chapters to work properly if you use the chapter editor on the...

Re: Custom firmware
Firmware pack updated with ASUS firmware based on 3.10 (and its A204 clone) . Overall, this seems to be a best firmware for NS50 hardware for the moment. Mike (or anyone who has tested this) Does this still retain burning functionality on an LG WH16NS40 NS50? I've seen reports of the NS60 losing bu...

Re: HD-DVD - 1080p false advertising?
Depending on how you're going to play them you may need to remove the 3:2 pulldown flags to get a 1080p 24fps file. I've long since processed all my HD-DVDs so I can't remember exactly how I did it, but it was one of the common command-line utilities like eac3to or tsmuxer that allowed me to do it. ...

Re: Feature Request: Do what you do without Java
Install the server version of Java (the exact product description escapes me right now). It's command-line interface only, doesn't work with your browser, but works fine for MakeMKV and other similar tools that need the functionality without the risk.

Re: The BIG backup button
I like AnyDVD for backups of all my disks to ISO format. I really with MakeMKV would offer this as an option though, so I could use a single product for everything.

Just launch MakeMKV twice. That's how I do it on Windows.

Re: .iso to MKV using MakeMKV?
don't mount the ISO. just ctrl-o in makemkv and select the .iso file. this works for me, at least with ISOs created by AnyDVD. Exactly. I convert probably 99% of my BDs this way, because I back them up to ISO first using AnyDVD for archiving and then use MakeMKV against the ISO as it's quicker than...

Re: Remove subtitles from mkv?
Try this, in bold. Often players take 'default' as meaning mandatory, which it doesn't.Chetwood wrote:Or he could use MKVToolnix to remux and for a test its header editor to see if removing the default flag makes a difference.

Convert audio and retain original
Is there a means of creating a conversion profile that will allow converting audio from one type to another (thinking TrueHD -> FLAC), but also retain the original audio stream? Usually I rip TrueHD tracks as they are, and then demux to FLAC afterwards and then merge it back in so I can play the fil...

Re: How to convert PCM into Flac
MKVtoolnix can split by chapter. So you can use MakeMKV to generate the MKV file and MKVtoolnix to split into chapter files. Then use something like eac3to to pull the FLAC files out of each chapter MKV.

Re: HD-DVD backup remove 3:2 pulldown flags?
Yeah, I wish it could do it too. I end up having to extract the video with eac3to, removing the pulldown flags as I do, and then remux it with mkvtoolnix. Fortunately I didn't have a load of HD-DVDs and I've ripped them all already, but it would have been a great feature to have.
