Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

Same problem here with the older version. Upgraded to the latest for Mac/OS and now, after the disc scan, the read fails due to something it can't do while downloading Hash Keys (?). I guess this is just something to do with the decryption but wanted to see if anyone else is having the same issue. ...

Well...at least I could rip my Blu-rays.

Looking forward to the .1 release that fixes this new issue.
See 2 posts above yours. 1.18.1 is already released & resolves the UHD issue (and another issue).

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

As a developer myself; I have two thoughts. First, this looks intentional beyond the obvious, I believe they are trying to get ahead of a firmware attack that is reported but not generally not yet covered and as far as I can tell not in the wild yet. Second: this change has broken most but not all ...

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

Received feedback from Feedback Assistant. Apple states that is is up to the developer to fix it. Remains broken in RC2 I would caution against bringing MakeMKV to the attention of OS companies (Apple/Microsoft/RedHat/Ubuntu/etc.) In general, if an app breaks on a beta/release OS, it is * ALWAYS * ...

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

This is in the developer notes for macOS 15.4: libxml2 Deprecations The custom allocation API for libxml2 is deprecated starting in macOS Sequoia 15.4, iOS 18.4, tvOS 18.4, visionOS 2.4, and tvOS 18.4. If this API is not used, no changes are required. If this API is currently used, make changes to c...

You mentioned you "test Apple betas"... What do you test them for? Just curious.

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

Here's what Grok 3 had to say about the crash on my system: =====GROK3 Analysis===== . . . =====GROK3 Analysis===== Useless AI drivel, which is of course, is incorrect - that app fails to start. How can it be "corrupt input data"? It's more than just an issue finding the optical drive. Lo...

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

Same issue here, shame that it's such a hassle to downgrade back to 15.3. Just in general, to everyone in this thread - Betas of any software should only be used for testing. If the system/software/usage is important then it probably shouldn't have a beta OS or beta software on it. Apple Time Machi...

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

I also test macOS betas and am a long time MakeMKV user. On multiple macOS systems (Studio, MacBook Air & MacBook Pro), MakeMKV 1.17.8 was working perfectly yesterday, before upgrading macOS to the 15.4 developer beta (15.4 Beta (24E5206s) - first 15.4 beta, just released yesterday). Today I am ...

Re: US UHD Drive rip region 12 4k UHD?

Yes it will rip fine even if it's a different region but I don't think any UHD discs have region locks. And region are a b c not 12 that might just be the age rating. Thanks for the quick reply. I saw it was sold by Amazon, and now see it's Amazon UK (I'm in the US)- so whichever A, B, C region tha...
