so one nice Pioneer down the drain for me.
Hehehehe!! oh well life goes on.....

Thanks Coopervid, i have flashed it with success. firmware version went up to 1.02 (It was version 1.01 before), and the drive became a BDR-S12U (It was a BDR-S12JX before). after flashing it, it struggled to read a 4k uhd disc, (lots of clicking noise internally) but it eventually played it and Mak...

Re: BDR 212V UHD Guide
i tried spinning up a 4k uhd disc in it, but it says no disc. then i tried a regular audio cd, and it played that audio cd.
then i opened the drive up to clean the len's but it still cant pick up the 4k uhd disc, only audio cd's it can play.

thanks in advance.

Re: Should i proceed with flashing my new external Archgon
have you flashed the drive successfully already? if you have then from your picture, i see that your "Input path is wrong thats why vlc cant open the disc to read it" you have to always manually choose "Bluray Path", not the "DVD path" 1) click on "Media Button at ...

Re: Destruction pictures of my Verbatim 43888 (Pioneer UD04)
sadly no tips at all on how to open up this casing, other than forcibly destroying the casing. i actually found in "Reddit" that one person posted pictures of this casing and saying that there are 2 small holes at each side of the casing to pry it open. i tried that, but no success at all....

Re: Pioneer bdr 209 and Pioneer bdr 209m
doesn't matter whatever word is behind the description of the 209 drives u have.
all will be flashed to the general s11 drives.
meaning they will become 211 drives. no more 209 drives!
209 to 211. simple as that.
yippee!!!

Re: Manufacturing of 4k blu ray drives
unofficially, as long as you have a "Flashed Drive" even if you run it on a newer gen intel pc, with MakeMkv software and MPC-HC media Player with all codec's provided free, you can still rip and play 4K uhd movies and regular blu-rays without any intel SGX requirements.

i definitely know that the names mentioned are not "Bot's" See my actual Windows PC with my 4 Pioneer BDR-209's in it, which have all been flashed to become Pioneer BDR-S11 Drive's!! If USD$25 is giving the "Pinch" then i guess you will have to "Stay with the Official Pionee...
