I just ran into this on one of my own discs (The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, disc id 6156F16BEEB51791CBCC8E3BF752ADE3DFC2F4C0) , but was surprised that it skipped this metadata file but kept the `PS3_UPDATE` and `PS3_VPRM` files in my rip. I also had the same issue. I explored what was going on with strace, but without any obvious clues. I eventually gave up and was successful with reflashing my drive with my firmware on Windows, and after that I've had no problems back on Linux.
