The Last Great Ride (1999) DVD won't rip to MKV
I have the DVD "The Last Great Ride" (1999) and am getting an error when trying to create an MKV. I am using the actual retail DVD, not something that's already been decrypted. This is a pretty uncommon kids movie, so although it could be a damaged disc or something else obvious, I suspect...

Re: Multi-Region Ripping Failure
What error message do you get? Could just be a faulty disc, even though it's new.

Re: Nexus 10 playback
My guess would be that mkv's made from DVDs will play OK but mkv's from blurays will be problematic because of the memory and processor required to play back that kind of HD video. Video compressed with H.264 will take a lot better hardware to play than Mpeg2.

Re: MakeMKV price?
I can tell you that the key you buy for $50 will be good for the life of MakeMKV. It never expires! As for the DRM, there are supposedly some new blu rays that, when inserted into a blu ray drive, update the protection on that drive and cause it to become useless for ripping until MakeMKV is updated...

Re: cant remove covers (attachments) from bluray
Well, the reason for the confusion (as far as I can tell) is that this attachment feature has just appeared in the most recent version of MakeMKV. That's why he didn't know that you were talking about MakeMKV. Till just the other day, I don't think we had this feature. Anyway, Mike may have to comme...

I always get this Windows crash box as well. I have yet to successfully convert a DTS-HD track to FLAC. LPCM to FLAC works fine though...

Re: DTS-HD transcoding to FLAC failing in MakeMKV version 1.
Were you ever able to resolve this issue? The program crashes for me as well, when I try converting DTS-HD to FLAC even though I'm pretty sure I've set it all up correctly. I could try to post a log as well if it helps anyone...

Re: AccurateRip
I would definitely like that feature! You never know when you're ripping a disc that has some scratches that might result in a less than perfect MKV file. Since hash checking is done in backup mode, I first rip my discs as a full backup, then convert that backup to an MKV to hopefully avoid ripping ...

Re: The Hunger Games BD, which chapters to choose
I used playlist 00076.mpls and had no trouble creating the mkv. A friend of mine who had already seen the movie came over and watched it from this mkv I created and said everything looked fine, so if you have this particular playlist on your disc, you should be successful using this one.

Re: The Hunger Games BD, which chapters to choose
I've been waiting for someone to post about this! There is a whole mess of different titles with slightly different lengths on this blu ray. Has anyone figured out which one is correct yet? Thanks!

Re: 1.7.5 DTS-HD MA decoding
Hey, seriously: Can anyone please tell me what I would need to change/add to my conversion profile file to make DTS-HD conversion to FLAC work? I assume something has to be done there, but maybe not...? I'm using the conversion profile I downloaded from here: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic...

Re: On-the-fly conversion to FLAC supports 24-bit data?
Well, since spam bumped this post back to the top, now might be a good time for me to ask: Does anyone know when 24-bit flac support will be coming to MakeMKV? I understand that depends entirely on ffmpeg, but are there any estimated release dates anyone knows of for 24-bit flac support there? Thanks!

Re: Which audio track(s) to rip off blu ray?
That is exactly what I do, except I keep all English subtitles as well. Back to audio, though. I have a receiver that can decode DTS-HD and TrueHD, so to keep anything less than that is pointless for me. The only other place I play my movies is my laptop, on which I've installed the Arcsoft TotalMed...
