I was able to get it going after a reboot, full backup worked successfully. I must have been having issues with the DASPI filter under Mac OS X.

Same here. I don't know what Paramount did, but I'm getting all sorts of SCSI errors when I attempt to read the disk. I'm going to reboot and see if that helps, I have both Mac OS X 10.8 and Windows 8.1 at my disposal.

Drive has only been through ~100 discs, disc is brand new. I'll keep at it, thank you for you response. Has anyone else had luck ripping this?

This disc is brand new, so I imagine all of these errors are copy protection related. MakeMKV claims the disc is supported by AACS v4, BD+ v2007.7. Unable to seek MKV of The Return of the King Extended Edition (Disc 2). I'm using 1.6.12 on Mac OS X Lion. Will the seek issue carry over if I have Handbrake encode the MKV to MP4?
