"Dancing text" is fairly common with older digital transfers. Especially if the first transfer was for DVD, with interlaced frame scans.
MakeMKV generally won't save a file if it contains errors or is otherwise incomplete. What titles are we discussing here?

Re: Feature Request - End of Rip Alert Sound
Maybe a better request would be a customizable end-of-rip sound. I have my system-wide "alert" sound set to something rather innocuous because too many other programs use it. Programs like my mail program, that complained over 100 times per hour for 30 hours because someone cut the fiber l...

Re: Error in copying Vanguard
Since it is a DVD, it is possible that the Closed Caption extraction process was the problem. Some disks advertise they have CCs, but do not actually, and the ccextractor process takes a LONG time to figure that out. You can test it by opening the ISO again, and unselect the CCs from the main title....

A purchased key does not expire - so no need to periodically update the beta key, or re-enter it every 30 days to keep the Bluray capabilities working.

Re: trouble saving back to the future
Screen shots aren't necessary, because the information necessary can be copy/pasted as text. Is your drive an external USB-powered drive, or an internal SATA drive? Something is causing the drive to be "too busy" to respond to the operating system. USB drives can do this when they're spinn...

Re: File Compression
MakeMKV won't do video compression. But, tools like handbrake can. Compressing a 1080p video to "less than 4gb" depends on how much quality you're willing to give up and how compressible the source is. Something like anime will usually compress to 10-15% of original size, but a fast-moving...

Re: Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar (PLAYLIST) Please
MakeMKV filename depends on your minimum rip size. Someone with a 30 minimum size (like I use) will have different file numbers than someone using 120 or 1800 seconds.
Only the titles that meet the minimum file size are counted.

Re: LG WH16NS40 v1.02
It's not just the firmware; the hardware has to support the second generation of BDXL as well. If MakeMKV says it has enabled LibreDrive, you have the maximum capability your hardware can handle. Late 2015 through early 2016 was the transition time between old and new hardware. The "drive platf...

Also note that "clean" is a relative term. Some of the things that make a disk "dirty" as far as the laser is concerned look perfectly fine to the naked eye.

Re: The Jungle Book 2016 3d
The error sequence meaning actually depends on your drive, MajinDustin, and it's not specific to this title. If you're using a USB-powered drive, the most likely cause is that the drive is being spun up faster than the power available can support. The drive resets, and the operating system thinks it...

Re: Is there a way to force download of latest decrpytion keys?
If enabled, MakeMKV will download the hash key file as needed, usually at program start-up.
You could manually fetch it, but I don't know the URL myself.

Re: Asus BW-16D1X-U
All of the above reinforces the idea that we must see what MakeMKV thinks of drive model "X"... Manufacturers are changing internals without changing model numbers. A BW-16D1X-U from 2020 is a different beast from a 2015 model, and maybe even a 2016, but you cannot tell from the label OUTS...
