Re: Question re License terms
Mike has always been sparing with details on the license. It IS part of the start-up for the program during the install, with the opportunity to print it out. You can see it while running the installer, before it gets to writing programs to the drive. As for the question of "how many copies can...

Re: Shin Godzilla Black & White
The problem is any file that exceeds 4.0MB will fail with that message. You should EMAIL the file to svq@makemkv.com for Mike to receive it, and if you wish the keydb people to also generate a key, they'll want you to upload it to a site like Google or other site, and provide a public link to downlo...

Re: Contact Information
If you've already purchased a license, you can ask Mike to re-send you the key. The address given above, support@makemkv.com , with your email address you used when you obtained the key before, should be all you need.

Re: Funny little messsage: doesn't affect anything
Yes, it IS saying that something is affected - the ability to download the SDF file. Usually that means your ISP or router is blocking access to the Russian site that hosts the SDF file, but that can be worked around USUALLY.

Re: [AACS v82] This disc uses newer version of AACS protection.
Knowing what disk you're trying to read would make it easier for someone else to point out a path to decoding it. It would also allow others to see whether the disk they're trying to decode has already been submitted.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Considering that half the post that starts this topic refers to Pioneer drives, what is your question? This is a great resource. Will Pioneer models ever be added to this?

Re: The Chosen Season 5 - Partly - Out of order
On a lot of (most) disks, MakeMKV will rip things in the order they appear in the directory of the disk, NOT by file name. If you look at the file name and put THOSE in order, you have a much better chance. But, this adds in the step of naming tracks manually. In my case, that was a given, because t...

Re: Flashing question
They didn't change the hardware, so it's telling you when it was built. Labels mean little.
The drive was actually built in 2013, per it's hardware.

Re: Man Of Steel 4k Error SCSI
Those errors often mean a hardware read error, at a position that is pretty far into the disk. It is possible that the drive shut down during the read, if it's USB-powered. You didn't say. Did the position of the failure always come up in the same place? That indicates a disk issue. If the failure m...

Re: Advice for new optical drive purchase
Your requirements are rather specific, and hard to complete. Released in 2023 or later can cover both LG and Pioneer drives. Able to burn 100GB disks means you want a Pioneer. LG drives aren't reliable writing above 50GB. Able to read 4K disks on a Windows PC will exclude the Pioneer unless you modi...

Re: Wonder Woman (2017)
Does it always fail at the same offset? That usually indicates a flaw in the disk, or a dirty spot. Variable locations in the same general area often point to the drive speeding up beyond its power capabilities and shutting down. Often that can be "fixed" by slowing how fast the system can...

Maybe if we had some information, we could help. But, just the error message means little. You didn't even provide a disk name.

Re: Forum offline?
And you can blame a lot of it on spam accounts trying to flood the forum. When there are allegedly 4,000-15,000 people online over the past 5 minutes, you can bet that at least a couple of them are spammers.
