Correct on the time range. And, unfortunately, you cannot tell what a drive has in it without opening the box. The vendors that hang out here and sell drives source them rather carefully to make sure they have the older firmware. As for DVDFAB, I cannot say; have not tried it. I suspect, though, tha...

Re: Issue with Forced VOBSUB in Phantom Menace
Star Wars often has a lot more subtitle tracks than normal. Sometimes there are commentary tracks. And sometimes, non-essential dialog isn't subtitled at all.

Re: dump submitted spiderman across the spider verse
OK, now it's trying to access the hash key file, but failing because your system is being blocked. You do NOT want 8.8.8.8 as a proxy server in most circumstances (at least not in MakeMKV), buy you do need to take care of the blocking of data download.

Re: dump submitted spiderman across the spider verse
On the Preferences->General tab, "Enable Internet access" needs to be checked. You will also want to make sure your MakeMKV data directory is set to something OTHER THAN where MakeMKV is installed, so that data can be written to it (the default install directory is locked from general acce...

Re: dump submitted spiderman across the spider verse
The C8EE file was sent in a year+ ago, and people were able to rip it after a few days, so... it would seem something is preventing your system from reading it. Your log does not note that it tried to load the keys; is it disabled on your system? Normally, you would see an attempt to download the ke...

Re: dump submitted spiderman across the spider verse
It is possible that the key has been submitted AND has been published to decode, but your system is not picking up the update. Showing the start of your log with the disk inserted will help determine if that's the case.

If the drive has firmware dated 12/22/2022 or later, no.
Most likely, on Amazon, it will be too new.

Usually it means they have errors in the directory. You say they play "in your player"'; is that a different device than your computer? Can you play them on the computer?

Re: Do UHD drives in general support Blu-Ray game dumping?
Are you talking on a PS3, or on a PC/Mac/Linux box?
The PS3 would require a drive that had been modified to allow UHD. Many can be modified to do that on a computer, but not Pioneer drives built after 12/22/2022.

I have to wonder if anyone is actually inputting the new key in the link provided, with no disk in the drive, as specified in the original message in this thread? Everyone is describing EXACTLY what Mike's message described, without saying whether or not they tried the fix, and having an issue.

Re: Disc copying 12 of 14GB then getting stuck with many errors
Same offset usually means a disk defect. Whether that's dirt or an actual imperfection can't be determined remotely. This is where cleaning is the key - what method did you use for cleaning? "Dusting" is the least invasive, but you're limited to the chemicals you want to involve. A lot of ...

Re: Disc copying 12 of 14GB then getting stuck with many errors
Does "same spot" mean "about the same place", or "the exact same offset"? One issue with USB-powered devices is they can run out of power when they go near maximum speed, but it is unusual that they'd stop at the exact same offset. Your description of "freezing&quo...
