Re: Is LG WH16NS60 MK firmware safe to flash on an Asus drive ?

Okay, thks for the reply. Also, I see in the same "Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023" the following line: "Flashing Official UHD firmware to a UHD Friendly drive will not enable Powerdvd aacs 2 decryption or playback" Does this mean that the drive, not the software,...

Is LG WH16NS60 MK firmware safe to flash on an Asus drive ?

Hello, please forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered somewhere in the forum. I have an Asus B16D1HT which I flashed successfully with the 3.10 MK firmware. Works okay to make MKVs, but is it still supposed (with this 3.10 MK firmware) to have the sleep bug ? If yes, I see in...

Re: Results with Dune 2 4K

:D VLC 3.0.21 (which is the latest stable version) supports HEVC but does not support HDR. VLC 4 is the development branch and will support HDR, but I have no idea when VLC 4 will be released. Exactly what I noticed on Windows: after a bit of tweaking, I managed to view the HEVC video in VLC, but th...

Results with Dune 2 4K

Hello all, after applying the MK firmware to my drive (Asus BW-16D1HT), I managed succesfully to access this disc (Dune 2 4K, produced in 2024) using MakeMKV 1.17.7 (the latest). Re: Why should I have to flash older firmware ?

The guide does not say that but it would be for greater compatibility with other rippers You are right, it was not in the Flashing Guide, I must have found that in another thread (probably older) dealing with my drive. I found it ! It was in the page "http://wiki.redump.org/index.php?title=Fla...

Re: Why should I have to flash older firmware ?

Changing the firmware in the drive removes those limitations, to do things like rip (as opposed to simply playing) disks on machines that do not have the official hardware (Intel motherboard with certain specifications), software (Windows 10+ and special player), and video plugs. Okay, I understand...

Why should I have to flash older firmware ?

Good day to all on this forum. Forgive me if the question has already been asked somewhere on the forum. Please excuse my English (if needed), this is not my native language. My aim is to play commercial Blue Rays (that I bought) on my PC (which happens to have a working 4K environment - screen, HPC...
