Re: The Cell (Arrow, Disc 2) issue
Clean it anyway... Sadly, no dice. I cleaned it again, thought I might have got some manufacturing glaze off, but when I tried to re-process it... it failed again. Same error cropped up within seconds of trying to back it up. It's worth noting there wasn't any abnormal power demand placed by this d...

Re: The Cell (Arrow, Disc 2) issue
Clean it anyway. Sometimes, well with UHD discs anyway, when brand new they can have an invisible to the naked eye film/mark on them. It certainly won't hurt for you to give it a good wipe with a microfiber cloth. Yeah, I've definitely found that as well. Same problem with older discs as the plasti...

Re: The Cell (Arrow, Disc 2) issue
The drive is having trouble reading a section of the disc and seems to be running out of power. Ensure you are providing adequate power, either via USB-C, USB-A ports direct from the motherboard or a self powered USB hub (30w+). Cleaning the disc will probably also help! Interesting thought on the ...

The Cell (Arrow, Disc 2) issue
So, the recent Arrow release of The Cell (2000) has 2 discs. The first one (UHD) backs up fine. The second one is Blu-ray. It plays fine in a UHD or Blu-ray player, but it spits out these errors in MakeMKV 1.18.1 using the keydb.cfg dated 5/28/2025 11:12PM. Anyone else running into this? MakeMKV v1....

Re: Feature Request: Selective Backup
That is precisely my meaning. I'm staring down the barrel of yet another episode of... Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00669.m2ts' at offset '31355043840' Failed to save title /BDMV/STREAM/00669.m2ts to file C:/MakeMKV/backup/SOME_MOVIE/...

Feature Request: Selective Backup
We've all been there before... trying to back up a disc only to be met with the the dreaded read-error-retry spiral ultimately leading in hash check failure and a handful of missing files. It would be amazing if full disc backup mode presented a choice: Full Disc or Partial backup. If Partial is cho...

Re: Looking for Slim DVD Drive w/o RipLock
All LibreDrive drives have capacity to become riplock-free. This will magically happen some day in future (when time will allow this). ETA is unknown... So, it's been about 5 years. I noticed my BU40N 1.03 is also ripping DVDs at ~2.6x max. Do we have any hope of LibreDrives becoming riplock-free s...

Re: Dolby Vision x265 Encoding, DV Profile Advantages/Caveats?
Apologies for the "thread necro" but it appears this issue (and a followup one trying to pipe native binary output to a file) was fixed in Powershell 7.4.0-preview, so if you're running 7.4.0 release (or newer, current latest is 7.4.4) it should work fine. I'm also curious if this process ...
