Thanks for the reply. Which option, precisely, is the "bless" part? Is it "info disc:0" through the makemkvcon.exe ?

I am trying to backup a disc that has hashcheck read errors. I need to bless the disc in order to create a ISO of it and then MKV.

How do I "bless" the disc with makemkvcon?

I've read people doing this but cannot see how to.

This is a great suggestion. I've use glass and optical cleaner before, which is obviously a different category of a thing (as it only attempts to remove dirt/grime). I am having the same issue. I tried using the backup feature, then ripping to MKV, same result. Also tried creating ISO and backup files with other software, same result. I can't seem to figure this one out. Any other tips would be appreciated.

This may be a silly question but what exactly is the use case for having MakeMKV launch VLC, etc.? Is this so once the rip is finished, it opens a player program? Just trying to understand a use case.
