Re: Windows 10 Media Player MKV Playback
cbits. You seem to be misunderstanding the basics of what's wrong. Windows10 does not have serveral codecs licensed for Win10 by default. (Several are fixed in a recent windows update) Handbrake during rips converts to the codecs you specify. (Handbrake's goal is to re-encode, usually for smaller fi...

Re: Monsters University DVD
This comes up all the time, but I'll be happy to go over it again. For Almost ALL Disney/Pixar movies released in the last 4years.... You must find the legit title number for the movie by actually going through the menu system, playing it, then checking the number of the title it's plays (once the m...

Re: Warning message about DVDFab
Thank you Mike, I'll just find something else to do the decryption/rip pre-iso creation besides dvdfab. (If you have any alternative decryption suggestions to anydvd/dvdfab I'm all ears, if not I'll play around till I find one I'm happy with.) PS: What version series did you see the problem in, and ...

Re: Warning message about DVDFab
Instead of insulting, accusing or belittling, could the question actually be answered please? Some users will already have large collections ripped to ISO before switching to MKV. Personally I made ISOs of all the disks MakeMKV doesn't like so I don't have to dig them out from storage every single t...

Re: Can't rip Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
MMC dvds were weird on me too. I did find a workaround for the disk I had.
Try ripping it into an ISO first (remember to have it decrypted) then have MakeMKV process it.

Re: Possible Mastering Error - Urusei Yatsura Volume 26
But, there wasn't much data for Mike to work with to work around it, since only one person had a legal copy. Been trying to find one myself... but not willing to pay $1200 for the series. . Netflix is the best source for OOP anime (They even have a complete collection of MI). I don't remembe...

Possible Mastering Error - Urusei Yatsura Volume 26
Disk is physically fine, plays fine, and copies fine. Previous disks were successful The fails happen within the first 50mb. MakeMKV v1.8.0 win(x86-release) started Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as MakeMKV_log.txt Using direct disc access mode Title #0 was added (21 cell(s), 1:42:28) Titl...

Re: Best Quality help
I would suggest MakeMKV over handbrake for the following reasons: #1 No re-encoding. This will save you time and gain you quality* at the cost of file size reduction. (*You will always, always, lose quality when you reencode from another codec) #2 Simplicity. As MakeMKV does not actually re-encode a...

Re: 1.78 Anamorphic problems
How to fix this problem:
Edit the MKV immediately after ripped with MKVMerge's header editor
Edit the Video Display Width / Height to what you need.

Re: Errors with ripped DVD's
Just as an FYI. Everything I've ripped on 1.7.8/.9/.10 plays fine on WiiMC 1.3.x There is certainly a possibility there is another issue at play than makemkv. What "exactly" happens for you on WiiMC. (does it crash wiimc to main menu, stutter, give an error?) Also what happens on RaspPi? I...

Re: BRAVE DVD anyone?
Again Brave Rips Fine. Follow the directions I had listed. If you do not have the specific source title needed, check your log to see where the error is. Go by MakeMKV's "Source title ID" under the Info / title information area. REMEMBER titles will NOT always be in order as usually there ...

Re: BRAVE DVD anyone?
Yes, Brave rips fine. If I recall correctly I did it the same way I did every other recent disney. Insert DVD, have MakeMKV Open the disc (load it up, whatever you consider it) Once the titles are loaded open up VLC ( VideoLAN Client ) and go through the menu for a normal widescreen playback. Take n...

Re: TV Season has all episodes in one big file
Yes, using MKVMerge. Go on and use MakeMKV to first pull in the 1 huge file so you can work with it. How: #1 download mkvmerge (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoo ... loads.html) (assuming windows, I believe its the same on mac but just in case I'm wrong...) #2 Launch MKVGui (unless you're a co...

Answer! VLC 1.x has auto-detecting interlaced video off by default! Additionally from what I remember the auto-detection was considered "poor". (*No idea on 2x) You can manually change deinterlacing settings under the video menu. As far as plex, I'm guessing either the deinterlacer is off,...

Re: Handbrake made mkvs works on the LG BD670, makemkv mkvs
This was explained earlier, but some of you didn't get it and I'll spell it out again. MKV is a container format, inside that container can be a WIDE VARIETY of codecs. Most of your players support 1 or 2 SPECIFIC codecs inside MKV container files. *(usually MPEG4 and variances of it) IF your player...
