Re: Becky (Kevin James) 2020

Just to throw my 2 cents in. I had one drive where it would not recognize the disc, which was an LG WH16NS60. It was LibreDrive patched. My second drive is not LibreDrive patched, and it is an LG WH16NS40. I think everyone who had trouble with the disc, comment on whether they are using LibreDrive. ...

Re: ILLEGAL REQUEST:READ OF SCRAMBLED SECTOR

I am encountering this same error on v1.14.4. I am also seeing something not yet described. I have two drives, one Libredrive and one not (both LG drives). Not running as admin, I get this error on both drives. When I run as admin, the Libredrive doesn't give me the Scrambled Sector. The other drive...

Re: UHD support

I really need some help ripping UHD!!! Using MakeMKV 1.14.1 x64. I have two drives in my PC that are supposed to be friendly; BC-12B1ST and WH16NS40. Both are running firmware 1.00 of their respective brands. But my MakeMKV doesn't seem to be responding as I think it should. I have copied the keys_h...

Re: MKV rip size is different between MKV rip tools!

MKV rip sizes will be different between all tools on the market. They all have their own header structures, which differ, thus a different number of bytes. Most of them attempt to detect and remove the zero padding found on discs, and do so with varying degrees of success. Some programs include the ...

Re: All-Star Superman Errors

From the MakeMKV's perspective 120000/4004 and 30000/1001 are equal - frame rate is only used to assign timecodes and the fact that you get no errors means that timecodes were assigned properly. I would blame the player first and it's MKV support in particular. Please try demuxing an MKV file produ...

Re: HDI Dune can't play MKV from version 1.6.12

I have a Dune Base 3.0 and a few Smart H1's in my house and I have had no problems playing back MKVs made by MakeMKV 1.6.12.

Re: Post your blu-ray drive and speeds with makekv

Asus BC-12B1ST
1.0 Firmware
4-5X speeds on dual layer discs in the sweet spot
7-8X on single layer discs in the sweet spot

Max that I've seen is 9.2X.

Overall, a nice, nearly silent BD drive (and no AACS Bus Encryption)

Re: All-Star Superman Errors

Unfortunately, math isn't involved here, but rather convention. To the video processor 120000/4004 wouldn't be equal to 30000/1001. My unsderstanding is that 120000/4004 would be the naming convention used to indicate progressive NTSC. It is how a 480p30 framerate would be annotated to differentiate...

All-Star Superman Errors

MakeMKV 1.6.12 cannot properly process all the content on the All-Star Superman blu-ray. The blu-ray contains two bonus cartoon episodes recorded in 480i AVC. MakeMKV corrupts these streams to the point that they are completely unwatchable. MakeMKV returns no errors in the process. http://i.imgur.co...

Re: Interlaced H264

Hi! Your posts refer only to "eac3to", "tsMuxer", and "MKVMerge". Why are you posting in a "MakeMKV" forum? Why do you feel like you always need to be the forum police? At least if you are going to do it, do it right. If you notice right under the subforum ti...

Re: Interlaced H264

FYI for future reference.

I have extracted the streams using both tsmuxer and eac3to. I remuxed them using MKV Merge and both have identical video corruption (audio is fine on both). This leads me to believe the limitation is likely with MKV Merge.

Interlaced H264

I have encountered a problem recently and I'm left scratching my head. On the All Star Superman Blu-ray, there are two cartoon episodes that I would like to extract. They are encoded with H264 at 480i60/1.001. I used eac3to to extract the streams, and encoded to MKV using MKV Merge, but the resultin...

Re: New protection? Season of the Witch BD

There is currently no open-source VC-1 decoder which supports interlaced compression. Microsoft's WMVideo Decoder and ffdshow's wmv-9 both can play interlaced VC-1. My Dune media player has also played interlaced VC-1 MKV's, even though it was several firmware versions ago. A good reminder I should...
