Format for episodes?
I used to use a website that told how to format episodes so that apps could correctly display things like Season x, Episode y and maybe title names, etc. I'm using InFuse on AppleTVs but I can't get it to read the files properly. My server is a UnRaid 12TB array which is accessible on my LAN. I thou...

audio is only 2.0
I have well over 100 DVD files on my HTPC. All of the Blu-ray files show up in XBMC as 5.1 or 7.1 audio. Virtually all of the standard def DVD files (the majority) show up as 2.0 audio, even though I have selected 3/2.1 or whatever the best audio option may be. What am I doing wrong?

are my movies MPEG-2?
Yes, I have used the search function. I want to use a Raspberry Pi with XBMC to play DVDs I have ripped using MakeMKV. They say that they cannot playback MPEG-2. The only info I can find in properties says the format is .mkv. I think that is the container but what is the format?

Re: not exactly an error
I think I follow, but when I view the list of movies in XBMC, those that I didn't check show up as 2 channel stereo.

not exactly an error
Every single Blu-ray that I rip with makemkv has the HD 5.1 audio unchecked by default. I have to make sure to check that option, otherwise all I will get is 2 channel stereo. Is there a way to have 5.1 automatically selected?

Re: Dude, where's my 5.1?
Thanks for the insight, you are correct. But I have to ask, why is the default setting that the AC3 (or whatever) box unchecked? I reripped a couple DVDs and had to expand the triangle then check the box so I wouldn't be stuck with 2.0 audio.

Dude, where's my 5.1?
I was looking thru my 100+ movies ripped with makemkv recently. I noticed that MOST of them are in 2.0 audio. Just a few show 5.1. When I rip, I chose the one large file to save and not the other small files. Is that where the other audio options are stored? Or is there something else I need to do?

One thing missing from this excellent program is the option to UNCHECK ALL. Some DVDs may have more than a dozen files for extras or other stuff. It would be nice to hit uncheck all and then select just the few files that I want.

Re: MKV and iTunes
I'm going to use the ATV in my motorhome, so no internet, no streaming. Can I get the .mkv videos on the ATV without using iTunes?

MKV and iTunes
I have a home theater PC and have about 140 movies on my HD (that I have copied from DVDs I own). I have used MakeMKV exclusively to rip to DVDs into a single folder called VIDEOS. I also have, for another TV, a first gen Apple TV. From iTunes, I have selected the VIDEO folder on the HTPC to import ...

Re: can't delete files
I wound up deleting them by command line. Even safe mode didn't do it.
