It made flashing an LG WH14NS40 a snap. Now it thinks it's a WH16NS60, as expected.
Interestingly, the drive was easily found and flashed while inside an ancient iOmega DVD burner external housing from 2008, one of the earlier SATA-based external drive enclosures ...
