Re: Possible use of multicore CPUs?
Lets get MakeMKV rewritten in OpenGL or CUDA so it can use all the cores available on our graphics cards!

Re: MKV Free?
It starts counting down from the first time you use it on a HD disc.
Now if your permissions are somewhat off, every time you use it, it will start a new 30 day time frame.
Or if your permissions are correct, you can just use the free key that is posted regularly.

Looks like the seemless branching/ordered chapters feature in Matroska only works when using a specific playback library. So I think this feature is really a request for the Matroska team and not for MakeMKV.

Re: How to rip Blu Ray into 720p instead of 1080p?
Depends on what software you are using.
MakeMKV is just ripping the disc. You want to transcode the content to a different size. You can check at VideoHelp for Video Converters. Some are more threaded than others.

Re: I'd go ahead and buy MakeMKV if...
In the window where it has the file path, just edit the name of the file. For multiple rips, it should just add the 00, 01, 02 suffix. After it's done ripping I go and rename them to what they are. I would rather do it this way than from the selection menu since I don't necessarily know what's what ...

I believe that #4 and the second #7 are already there. You can name your output files how ever you want, or you can have MakeMKV sort of auto name it for you. When you select what you want from the selections menu, you can select everything there, which would include multiple versions of movies. I'v...

Re: Square Box
You would have to disable the cropping to get it back to 1920 by 1080.
While I'm not sure, I think the AppleTV only handles 720 files so you would have to scale it down to 1280 by 720.

Re: Can't extract audio from MKVs
Well, you could use a mkv demuxing tool that would split the various tracks. The audio would be a mka file.

I can't say, but it works for me. Are you selecting the 5.1 track? Or just the 7.1?

It would help if you posted the log from MakeMKV, also if you posted the scan, and encode if available, log from Handbrake that might also help.

Re: I can only rip one movie in it's entirety?!
You need to either: A - rename the movie after you are done ripping it, B - Designate a different folder for the next movie.

You currently can't use the drive that you have. What I believe Woodstock is saying, is that it would work if your drive wasn't constrained by the AACS bus encryption.
