Re: The Avenger's Blu-Ray Disc
"Important" is relative. That's the 3D portion of the video. If you do not have 3D hardware, it's not important, but you need it to display 3D. Appreciate the reply. To take the question a step further, is there a general consensus used on MakeMKV forums. As in, do people tend to preserve...

The Avenger's Blu-Ray Disc
I was using MakeMKV to make a copy of The Avengers (technically The Avenger's 3D Blu-Ray disc, although I'm not sure this distinction matters because it ripped and played just fine in 2D). I noticed that under the file theres a subfield of Video>Video Mpeg4 MVC High@L4.1/StereoHigh@L4.1 that I don't...

Re: Confusion about audio/subtitle tracks
Subtitles are sort of a mess with no real standards in place to govern how they show up on a disc. Your best bet is rip all the subtitles in the language(s) you're interested in. 'Forced' subtitles are subtitles that are supposed to show on screen even if you don't have subtitles turned on. A class...

Re: Cutting out inappropriate scenes
You could make a neater job of it using a video editing suite, just be aware that most of these will only allow you to load the movie with one single audio track and no subs, whereas MKVToolnix will cut and reassemble all audio and subtitle tracks simultaneously, and edit the chapter edition(s) for...

Confusion about audio/subtitle tracks
https://postimg.cc/XXvzh52K I noticed that most movies have the first audio option such as DTS Surround with a sub-selection saying again something along the lines of DTS surround. My practice has been to check both the top and the sub-option of this but I’m a little confused if this is two differen...

Re: Shutter Island UHD failed to copy
Actually, it's my impression it's an entirely new production run of Shutter Island, a 4 disc package including Blu-Ray UHD, Blu-Ray standard, DVD, and Digital Code. I ordered it in February on pre-release with the title scheduled for release on May 21st. I'm not disputing the disc may be bad, but it...

Re: Shutter Island UHD failed to copy
no .TGZ log file is generated during any failed attempt to rip. here's the error message of the latest failed attempt, to a different destination drive. This is a LibreDrive enabled UHD friendly drive on an appropriate firmware and has successfully ripped other UHD discs. Ripped Interstellar UHD suc...

Re: Shutter Island UHD failed to copy
This error occurred when running MakeMKV as administrator, and it was after successfully ripping UHD disk Interstellar to the same destination folder just before it. I did however attempt to rip the same Shutter Island disc to a different destination drive in the computer (an HDD) just to check if t...

Shutter Island UHD failed to copy
I am trying to rip the new 4K UHD release for Shutter Island and it fails every time. I tried using FindVUK to generate decryption keys and it didn't resolve the issue. Any advice for me?
