I wonder why not available for purchase. I purchased years ago and love this program. I imagine many other would gladly purchase to help support the product.

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware crashes? Faulty drive?
Had same problem. ASUS drive started locking up / shutting down during attempted rip and required a PC reboot to get it working enough to eject the Blu- Ray movie. I downgraded MakeMKV to v1.5.1 and issue seems fixed - Will use this version until I run into disks that won't work with the older MakeM...

Re: Another Bad BD Drive?
I did the path of least resistance and downgraded MakeMKV to v1.5.1 and I was able to just rip a BD. Yea!
If I start to run into disks MakeMKV does not work on I will try flashing my ASUS with the LG firmware viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19928

Another Bad BD Drive?
It seems I go through BD drives every few years. This latest one, an Asus SUS_BW-16D1HT was working great until the last week. I have tried 3 different BDs and Disc won't open and then I need to reboot my computer and remove the disc during start up to get it out. (I had BD players go bad but never ...

Re: "Fake playlist" protection - help needed
I uninstalled Java a month or so ago, figured I had no need for it, security risk bla bla bla. Today I opened a movie with many playlists "Judy", and and was surprised to see no playlist identification. Do I need to install Java again?

Re: Newbie - Just Flashed Asus BW-16D1HT
https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634 See that thread for info on how to flash. It's pretty painless and if you follow the instructions (there are videos linked in that first post) there's not a lot of risk involved. Having LibreDrive support is a benefit even on regular blu-...

Re: Newbie - Just Flashed Asus BW-16D1HT
Look at the sticky topics at the top of this very forum and you'll find the custom mk firmware thread. The link to the firmware is in there. Found the thread in the firmware for the drive. Two questions. Mike says" (this topic will be updated with detailed flashing instructions later)" I ...

I have just flashed my Asus BW-16D!HT from 3.10 to 3.10MK but on MKV the firmware still says 3.10 but how do I know it has worked as I don't have a 4K disc yet to test. http://sykesit.co.uk/photo/drive.jpg Thanks I just added the same drive ASUS BW-16D1HT Can you point me to where you found the cor...

The gentleman from, hey Mondays where are you from? He’s correct, time for a new drive! https://makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17829 From the US. Just replaced my LG Electronics Blu-ray DVD Writer (UH12NS40) with an ASUS BW-16D1HT I made sure to get a drive that was Libre compatible. Ev...

Re: Ford vs Ferrari Errors.
I exchanged for a new disk. Same errors. Contacted Square trade and they are sending me out a $70 check. The only thing I ever use a DVD for is nowadays is with Makemkv. They seem to crap out after ~2years so a $2.78 4 year warranty purchase is well worth it. Type of coverage: 4 years Coverage start...

Re: If you're experiencing rip errors, please read here first!
Every 2 years or so I get these errors. Getting them now again. A new BD drive solves the problem. I have been buying LG drives, need to find a hardier drive. I have started to see this error message about ten days ago. For a while, quitting the program and re-starting it a few hours later worked. H...

Re: Failed blu ray rips more frequent. How likely is a bad drive?
My LG couldn't read the last 3 BDs I bought. Submitted claim to squaretrade. MakeMKV must be hard on BD drives since they rarely last more than two years and the only thing I use it with is MakMKV, maybe 5 discs a month ripped. This is why I got a squaretrade warranty with this last one.
