It depends on the studio. Disney likes to use 800 as the starting number for playlists which is nice. But for m2ts being 800 too is a coincidence.

Re: Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays?
Aha, so is it possible to use the tsMuxeR to combine those into a single m2ts file? Everything I have done so far using that software ends up creating a single m2ts file that is very convenient and my Sony player detects the 3D in one file and plays it correctly. Yeah, tsMuxeR should be able to do ...

Re: Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays?
So is it impossible to get a quality rip from this anyway since it is only 15GB? It won't be full quality like a legit 44gb disc, but whether it's considered a quality rip is a personal opinion. I'll assume it's not completely garbage (like YouTube levels of suck), but seeing 00800.m2ts should give...

Re: Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays?
This is the error message... (nothing to do with the blahblah+ apparently... lol) AACS directory not present, assuming unencrypted disc This disc requires Java runtime (JRE), but none was found. Certain functions will fail, please install Java. See http://www.makemkv.com/bdjava/ for details. First,...

Re: Can MakeMKV properly rip 3D Blu-rays?
Can MakeMKV work on region B 3d movies if I am in region A for example? Yes, other region discs will work. And the other question is I have a few of the MovieNEX 3d blurays like Quantumania and Black Widow that won't work because some software is missing. (I forget the name but it ends with a + sig...

Re: Flashing firmware on a Mac for LibreDrive
You gotta terminal indeed. The process should be relatively painless if everything's in place. Instructions should also work on Linux. Find the right firmware bin file for your drive from either mike's firmware pack or marty's all-you-need pack ... and for convenience's sake, copy the bin file to yo...

Re: MakeMKVcon fails to read discs
Those characteristics are screaming "counterfeit discs" in my mind.
- No AACS encryption?
- Less than 25GB (single-layer disc) for a whole movie?
- Bluish/purple colored underside?

Re: [Bug] MakeMKV on ARM (linux)
Was your success in the other thread without or with manually supplied KEYDB.cfg. Also super cool that you also did this with a Rockchip SBC. At first I was like no way this could work but then I asked myself why not and that’s how I ended up with this situation. It was done without the keydb.cfg f...

I think I replied to a spam/copy-pasta thread at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34275
I double-checked, but make sure you name it KEYDB.cfg (case-sensitive on Linux) or it won't be found.

Re: MakeMKVcon fails to read discs
Those messages aren't really errors per se. You were able to make a backup of the full disc, right? Most movies usually come encrypted with AACS, so being able to view the discs plainly with Handbrake does suggest (to me at least) that it's an unusual disc, if not counterfeit. How big was the backup...

Re: Partial / Incomplete MKV
There's a decent chance you may be able to salvage an incomplete mkv rip from MakeMKV. Open the mkv in a hex editor (I use HxD ) and see if the data starts with " This file was not properly finalized " If it does say that, you can copy-paste this byte dump... 1A 45 DF A3 A3 42 86 81 01 42 ...

Re: ASUS drive keeps getting stuck at 2x read rate (BW-16D1X-U)
I don't think it's thermal related either. My BP50NB40 managed to backup several other discs (4K and regular BD) from start to finish without capping to 2x read speed. But the interesting part is the slowdown only seems to happen when I make a full backup of 3D bluray movies. When I ripped the same ...

Re: ASUS drive keeps getting stuck at 2x read rate (BW-16D1X-U)
I had similar slowdowns when ripping regular (non-UHD) blu-ray discs with my BP50NB40 drive (reflashed). The drive is new too, manufactured 2024. The read speed went up to 4x for a while and suddenly caps at 2x after a few minutes. Having tried the rip several times, the slowdown consistently happen...

Re: any open BD Content Hash Table verifier?
There's one little caveat which might explain why no such tool exists yet. From page 10 of that document: If the data is encrypted, the encrypted data itself is used as an input to the hashing function, so that the player needs not to decrypt the data before calculating a hash value. That means the ...
