Re: Getting registration code on a Mac

You could try fetching the key from makemkv's config file. Open a Finder window, use the top menu: Go -> Go to Folder... (Cmd+Shift+G) Type in: ~/Library/MakeMKV Press enter You'll arrive at a folder with settings.conf and some other files. Right-click on settings.conf -> Open With -> Other... Choos...

Re: Older Asus bc-12b1st issues

I can mount it in Ubuntu and explore files on the disk, but if I start MakeMKV with a disk in the Bluray drive it will keep trying to read the disc and MakeMKV will be stuck. For this part, it's possible that gnome's automounter is trying to access the bluray drive at the same time, which could cau...

Re: Error on Linux Mint 21.2

Thanks for your message. You are right, I include : /softs/makemkv-1.17.9/bin to PATH and /softs/makemkv-1.17.9/lib to LD_LIBRARY_PATH. This always worked for previous versions. First time I get this message (Application failed to initialize CANT_LOCATE_MAKEMKVCON) with 1.17.9. I do not know what t...

Re: Error on Linux Mint 21.2

I installed makemkv in /softs/makemkv-1.17.9 directory by running ./configure --prefix=/softs/makemkv-1.17.9 for the oss part and I changed DESTDIR=/softs/makemkv-1.17.9 in the Makefile for the bin part. If you're installing makemkv to a custom path, you must also make sure the system knows where l...

Re: MakeMkv linux

I installed 1.17.7 successfully a while back. Now it quit working so I tried to install 1.17.9. /usr/bin/makemkvcon fails. Turns out it needs two newer versions of libgcc, which is problematic to get on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS You can compile a newer glibc and patch the makemkv executables to specifically...

Re: License Key

You can look up your key from the payment processor's website. If you purchased it in late 2021 or after, that would be PayPro Global. The quickest way is to use their customer portal site or contact them, starting from here: https://payproglobal.com/customer-support/ If you log in to the customer p...

Re: Anyone have 3D movie success?

I've had decent luck with playing 3D bluray on my PC using video glasses or reencoding the movies for playback on a VR headset. That's a fairly niche way of doing things, and I don't know much about home theater setups or streaming clients regarding 3D. I'll try to answer with what I know. Playing t...

Re: Version is too old

Having the same problem. I bought the software back in 2015 but can't find the key. Of course the links in the purchase email from back then are not working, nor does the order information work. Does my purchase still account for this version? If so, how can I retrieve my key? The old payment proce...

Re: registration key email?

If your MakeMKV install is registered, the easiest way is to open MakeMKV, go up to Help -> Register on the top menubar. A window will show up with your current key. As for email, my key was sent by "PayPro Global" with the address: sales @ payproglobal.com though keep in mind, my purchase...

Re: Upgrading in Linux, overwrite or de-install/re-install?

To answer the main question: you can just overwrite the existing install to update to a newer version. However ... MakeMKV 1.17.8 just happened to bump up its minimum glibc version as a dependency, meaning your distro needs to be from ~2022 or newer. Since you're on Mint 20, that's going to be a pro...

Re: Trouble flashing a USB LG BP50NB40

When I try to Recover to BU40N 1.03 MK, the first weird thing that happens is I click on the bin, click open, and the SDF FLasher (v1.3.5) still shows "please select a firmware to write". So I do it again and this time it appears in the menu. When I click start, it appears to work and is ...

Re: Older Noob Seeking Basic Advice

I'll jump in and throw some of my own thoughts here. One setting you didn't mention was framerate. Do you generally just leave framerate at default settings? (30, with "peak framerate" box checked) Other sources I read suggested matching the framerate to the framerate of the original video...

Re: on openSUSE Leap 15.3 broken: GLIBC_2.33/34 not found

First issue: The .tar.gz archives are double compressed so they should've had an extension of .tar.gz.gz to be accurate. You'll need to run gzip -d on both of the archives to undo the first layer of compression, and then you can unpack with tar. Second issue: The "GLIBC 2.33/34 not found" ...

Re: MakeMKV does not proceed beyond downloading SDF

I tried out Xubuntu 24.04 on a virtual machine and haven't ran into issues yet.

Does it always try to update the SDF when you run MakeMKV?
What happens if you turn off "Enable internet access" in the preferences?
