In Debian 12, when building the FFMpeg, PATH
"/tmp/ffmpeg/lib/pkgconfig"
does not get created ........
Did you do make install on ffmpeg after it's finished compiling?
The files won't magically appear in the prefix by itself.

Re: Env-Var to move ~/.MakeMKV/ directory?

The variable HOME will set the directory where .MakeMKV will be found. I don't think there's any way to change the name for .MakeMKV itself. A few other external libs also seem to reference that variable, so don't be surprised if other dot folders show up alongside it.

I'm not aware of any command line options to select tracks. Profiles would be the way to go.

Re: First attempt to make 3D MKV not working

This forum post suggests renaming the mkv so the filename ends with .mvc.mkv to play it as 3D.

Re: Metadata

mkvtoolnix is the standard tool for remuxing mkv files and editing various technical metadata in mkv files. You can use it to edit a file's title, track IDs, and cover art. Unfortunately, its gui is meant for handling individual mkv files. I don't think there's a way for the gui to automatically ta...

Re: When does Makemkv support the drive Pioneer BDR-S13EBK

Whenever I start MakeMKV v 1.17.1 linux ( x64-release ) it says that 1.17.7 is too old and I should download the latest version. But the 1.17.7 is up to date. ... This is all very strange. I haven't registered / bought the programme yet, because I haven't been able to test it - but that shouldn't r...

Re: Need a uhd drive

If you don't mind using an external drive, the Verbatim 43888 is basically a Pioneer inside and supports UHD discs without having to reflash.

It's available on Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07MTP9VKX

Hey thanks for the response!

I carefully followed your instructions, but Kodi can't play the blu ray I want it to.
Is your installation of MakeMKV registered with a full license, free trial, or beta key? You'll need to make sure it's activated otherwise player integration won't work.

Re: Which Drive to Rip 3D Blu Rays?

Do you have any recommendations on a 4K UHD Blu Ray drive to purchase? Thanks again The WH14NS40 should be able to read 4K bluray discs if you reflash it with another firmware version that is UHD capable. See this thread: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896 At the very le...

Re: MakeMKV integration with Kodi portable?

You can manually setup the integration; it's a simple copy/paste of a dll file provided by MakeMKV. 1. Check the folder where MakeMKV is installed (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV ). 2. Look for libmmbd64.dll if you're using a 64bit build of Kodi (or libmmbd.dll if your Kodi build is 32bit). ...

Re: Using an external drive as my destination

It sounds like you have a Ubuntu snap version of MakeMKV.

Run this command: sudo snap connect makemkv:removable-storage
That should grant it access to external drives.

Re: Using an external drive as my destination

Need more info.

Where did you install MakeMKV from? Flatpak, docker image, or compiled it yourself? It's possible that MakeMKV is being sandboxed and can't write to external volumes without granting extra permissions for it.

Re: LG WP50NB40 DVD ripping chapter problem

Those problems are not related to firmware. Changing your firmware won't really help unless you want to rip 4K bluray discs. DVD-Audio discs are rare to see around here, so it's possible MakeMKV might not be able to comprehensively handle those types of discs. But if you're able to rip the surround ...

Re: How do I make playable blu-ray discs?

No, it must be decrypted and include the AACS folder or else it won't play in a standard blu-ray player. Does a PlayStation count as standard player? Because that doesn't line up with my own encounters with bootleg discs. Here's one example... an unencrypted burn of a certain TV show, no AACS folde...
