I had issues building using the package from Debian multimedia and here is the version numbers from version.h #define LIBAVCODEC_VERSION_MAJOR 54 #define LIBAVCODEC_VERSION_MINOR 59 #define LIBAVCODEC_VERSION_MICRO 100 I did get it to build when using the libavcodec-dev that comes with Debian wheezy...

I agree with #2 I wish there was a way to set the drive you wanted the instance of makemkv to use from the command line. Right now my work around for stopping the two instances of makemkv from stepping on one another is I log in as two different users and give each one exclusive access on the drives...
