Re: Comparing Pioneer UHD Models

Most likely old stock. BD production in Japan has ceased and new stock comes from other countries like Taiwan. Verbatims from Japan MEI T02 50GB were also very good. The new Verbatims 50 GB from Taiwan are just bad. I bought enough SONY RE 100 and R128 during new year sales, after that price signif...

Re: Comparing Pioneer UHD Models

https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=185539&page=19 Thanks, useful guide, I had copy-pasted it from redfox. I don't watch movies and rarely used it, but it works everything as stated. Also it works with BD-RE with localized defects even with single layer ones. Honestly, on the last existing...

Re: Comparing Pioneer UHD Models

The plastic lens info for 212DBK comes from seller asmcom. Pioneer Europe told him I think all Pioneers for retail users for the last 10-15 years have plastic lenses. Otherwise it would be item #1 on the pioneer website to show the advantages of the S models. But it shows 2 copper screws on the mos...

Re: Comparing Pioneer UHD Models

To my knowledge the difference between S12 and 212 is that the S12s are coming with software and the 212 are OEM models w/o software. S also has a different design and really more attractive and has better noise & dust reduction but all Pioneers made better that LG/ASUS (which look cheap on the...

Re: Comparing Pioneer UHD Models

Where is the info about glass lenses in Pioneer drives coming from? I haven't seen that on the pioneer website in the marketing materials. I have now 8 different Pioneers BDR 2xx Sxx Xxx (from 205 to X13). The difference in recording quality of my drives depends more on the media and the accuracy of...

Re: WH16NS40 Firmware for rip UHD

For the BC-12D2HT, I really couldn't say for sure which firmware is compatible with DVDFab, You could try BC-12D2HT 3.11-MK but it may not work as most (if not all) MK firmwares don't work with DVDFab. You could then maybe flash it to BC-12D2HT 3.00 firmware if you can find it. FYI, I do not recomm...

Go ahead and do the second firmware flash.
thank you
which of WH16NS58 FW is better?
I had BD-RE issues (unable to eject and read BD-RE) with WH16NS58 1v5
after that I reflashed with WH16NS58 1v5 mk version and it seems works good

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

You cannot use this flasher as your drive has encrypted firmware. Use the SDFtool Flasher and: I reinstalled new MakeMkv and Sdtool flasher now able to found and read my ASUS. But when I try to write WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware it finished with error code 0x82062900 and I see OS device name: \Device\...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

Use the SDFtool Flasher and: 1. flash the drive to WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware. 2. flash to WH16NS58 v5 firmware. thank you very much I tried several versions of SDFtool Flasher, and this util does not see any drive. ASUS is connected to internal SATA of my z790 Motherboard. I order external IDE/SATa...
