For Linux, it is seemingly the last known bug free version of makemkvcon.
Thanks. I also wasted a bunch of time on this.

Feature Request - Include the source file name in the selection tray

I use thediscdb.com/about to determine what titles I should save. That site displays source files to show what files are actually needed.

It would be nice if that data was a column in the selection area in addition to the existing "Type" and "Description" columns. I am aware that the source file ...

Lifted from the guide, using your info, try...

./makemkvcon f -d '/dev_21:2' -f sdf_00000065.bin rawflash enc -i HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin
Thanks but I am still having issues. Could you update your post to link to the guide? It is currently linking this thread.

Re: Linux How To: Flash ASUS-BW-16D1HT

V1.05 is encrypted. You need to add 'enc' to the command line.

I have tried adding enc after the rawflash parameter like I read in a post above -

sudo makemkvcon f -f sdf_00000065.bin -d /dev/sr0 rawflash enc -i HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin
[sudo] password for dennis ...

Re: Linux How To: Flash ASUS-BW-16D1HT

I followed these steps and got a "Done Successfully" message. However my firmware does not appear to have changed.

Re: snap and saving to another folder

Thanks for your response. I should have been more clear. The error prevented Makemkv from even creating a folder let alone starting the ripping process. It just bombed immediately.

Re: snap and saving to another folder

For me, this was an issue with snap. I have avoided them in the past and so ran into this beginners problem.
sudo snap connect makemkv:removable-media
sudo snap disconnect makemkv:removable-media
I plan on using automatic ripping machine or something like it eventually but these work for now.

snap and saving to another folder

I installed Makemkv 1.17.6 onto ubuntu 20.04.6 via snap. My OS and ~ are on a tiny drive. I changed my "Defalut destination" to "SemiAuto" and then entered a different disk as the path.

When I rip a blue ray I get this error
