All titles have the same audio and subtitles and chapters? The same playlist?
Those are usually the differences I see when ripping discs with multiple versions of the same episodes. NB. I don't own the last of us, yet.

Re: creates iso but not mkv
There are various ways MakeMKV deals with a DVD. Creating an ISO of a DVD, MakeMKV just removes the encryption. Creating MKVs of the titles on the DVD requires MakeMKV to process the DVD, using either CellWalk or CellTrim. Some DVDs are difficult. More information here from mike - https://forum.make...

Re: Mactheripper message
As others have said, they're most like bootleg/fake/counterfeit DVDs. Some of my series of NCIS and Medium are bootlegs. The series of Medium that I bought are actually only DVD-5, 4.7GB capacity and the episodes are encoded at a very low bitrate. I noticed when I played and thought it was just the ...

Re: does one need to have Java installed
It's not necessary to install Java to use MakeMKV to decrypt most discs, Java only helps to identify and label some tracks. BD+ discs do require Java to be installed to be decrypted.

Re: 2000+ rips on my 8 drive NAS
20 harddrives of varying sizes in various zfs arrays, in a Norco server case. I think 5,000 discs* ripped over the 13 years since I joined these forums. I've still got four bays free in this case, then I'll start seriously looking for a 36 bay supermicro case at not stupid money. *Discs that I own. ...

Re: Possible to backup and decrypt an encrypted backup?
My Windows 10 doesn't have a 'Mount' context menu when I right click an ISO image. But, PowerShell will let me mount an ISO in a way that MakeMKV sees with the command Mount-DiskImage <path to ISO>. And, I can unmount the ISO with the PowerShell command Dismount-DiskImage <path to ISO>. MakeMKV work...

Re: Possible to backup and decrypt an encrypted backup?
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried using imgburn to make an iso of the folder, mounting that iso as a virtual drive, with imdisk an old program that mounts ISO etc as virtual drives but - more usefully before solid state storage became popular - allows you to create drives in RAM, but MakeMKV doesn...

Possible to backup and decrypt an encrypted backup?
I've got a few discs that I've backed up without decrypting. Is there a way I can use the encrypted folder backup as a source and have MakeMKV make an decrypted backup, or do I need to backup and decrypt my original disc? I know I can rip titles from the encrypted backup with MakeMKV, but the backup...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware crashes? Faulty drive?
On the original 3.01 firmware, 1.15.2 kept giving me errors on discs or telling me tht no disc was inserted. I flashed to NS60 1.00 firmware, rebooted... no disc. Flashed to 3.10MK and everything seems to work. Ripped a few UHDs and Blu-Rays. Got an old Blu-Ray backing up now and it reach 10.4x spe...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT - Failures after update
Just had my second 161 fail after making it UHD friendly. Both failed within two weeks of being updated using the easy update options from this site on the ASUS thread. Surely can’t be coincidence? Define failed? Running 1.15.2 my 16D1HT regularly insists there is no disc in the drive, yet 1.15.1 s...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT 3.10 Firmware
I've had ongoing issues with my BW-16D1HT since installing MakeMKV 1.15.2. On many occaisons MakeMKV will spin up the drive and, after many minutes have passed, insist there is no disc in the drive. I flashed to an MK firmware. Same issue. I flash to an LG firmware. Same issue. Under both firmwares ...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware crashes? Faulty drive?
I get a similar sounding problem on my BW16D1HT, on original 3.01 firmware - and LibreDrive sdf.070.bin, with 1.15.2. I can't get any discs to rip before I get errors though. UHDs that ripped fine in previous versions are no longer detected. Those UHDs continue to rip fine when I reinstall 1.15.1. M...
