Re: MakeM<KV 1.7.2 and 1.7.1 Failed BluRay Rip
The Conspirator (Robert Redford Directed-2011 release with AACS v21) BluRay gives the following error messages under Make MKV 1.7.2 (purchased) running on Dual quad core 2.8GHz Intel Xeon Mac Pro with .MacOS 10.6.8 despite disk cleaning, permission repair, and restart. Re: Chapter and aspect ratio issues with certain DVD's
But bumping without providing additional information doesn't help matters. And it generally makes other begin to discount what you're asking as noise. Guys It's not like I'm bumping the thread every day....or even every other day....its usually a week or so, and its always after I have noticed that...

Re: Errors extracting video from MakeMKV DVD rips
Bummer. Thanks for reporting back.paulster wrote:DVDPatcher didn't work. The file afterwards still showed as '24p with pulldown flags' so the MKV played at a 60Hz refresh rather than 24Hz.

Re: Chapter and aspect ratio issues with certain DVD's
@blackDragon24 "Bumping" a post is not appreciated... I've seen you play the rules police in several other threads and have not said anything, but seeing as you have found your way into my thread to insert yourself, I'll ask you kindly to keep your lack of appreciation for what I do to yo...

Re: List of DVD/BluRay that haven't worked
So i've re-ripped something that I've ripped before that I knew works and replayed the new rip and it works flawlessly so i'm thankful to know that my drive is still working :) Now as to why the movie The Switch wont rip properly is a mystery to me. Anyone else try ripping this movie? I've got a pi...

Re: Errors extracting video from MakeMKV DVD rips
I've got a number of NTSC DVDs which are actually 480p with pulldown flags so they display at 60Hz even though they are actually encoded on the DVD itself at 24fps (/1.001). Since I can playback 480p/24 material I figured I'd extract the video files and remove the pulldown flags, exactly as I've ha...

Compressing/Re-encoding 1080i material
I generally take all of my Blu-ray and DVD rips and re-encode them to 720p progressive video for compatibility purposes (MY TV's can handle mkv files over DLNA but can't de-interlace). I'm looking for some good advice on filters to use to take 1080i60 material and de-interlace/re-encode it to 720p30...

I use Xvid4PSP 5. It is a bit of a steeper learning curve but it works. Ripbot264 works well too.candyman wrote:Damn that didn't work... any other program I can use to encode (shrink) that isnt handbrake?

Re: Chapter and aspect ratio issues with certain DVD's
A similar problem was fixed in 1.7.0, are you using the latest version? Yes I am currently using 1.7.0. The images in the second post of the thread were from a previous version several months ago, but I had the EXACT same problem with Dexter Season 1 NTSC DVD on 1.7.0 a few days ago. In both cases,...

Re: Updated 1.6.16 to 1.7.0 all PC crash on sw opening
Sorry for the delay in my answer but I've been very busy. Answers for you: 1- the freeze happens in such a deep part of the OS (probably the blue layer) because, even with the task manager opened, no other sw running, opening MakeMKV, nothing is working anymore. I mean mouse freezed, alt-tab cannot...

Re: View MKV while processing?
Hi all. This is my first visit, so forgive me if this has been asked before. I used makemkv for the first time yesterday and was amazed at the speed. The one thing I couldn't do was to view the mkv while it was in the process of being converted, is this normal, because I picked the wrong track and ...
