If you want to do this, you don't need go down the ISO path. If you've made a decrypted backup with MakeMKV, just open that backup folder with VLC and it will play as if the disc was in the drive (only much faster), with menus and everything. Open VLC MP, click on Media > Open Disc... Select the &q...

It's okay, I won't have to use it anyway. I'm guessing there's a security risk involved when it comes to java. I better not install it.

Yeah, you're probably right. It's better to save it as an MKV. I just wanted to know how I can play the full disc with menus and stuff.

And yes, VLC can play ISO's.

VLC can play ISOs but it doesn't give you the menu from the Blu-ray disc. If it's a TV show, you can't even select which episode you want to watch.

DVD's are currently the only format that will create an ISO by default from what I see.

I currently just back-up the BD/UHD disc, then use imgburn to convert it to an ISO file.

And how do you play the ISO file if it's a Blu-ray?

Is it possible to create ISOs with MakeMKV, or should I look into alternative software for this specific task?
