Cost to buy physical DVD/BD is skyrocketing?
BestBuy no longer sell DVD/BD and any search I run for a DVD/BD is ridiculously expensive now. Amazon do everything in their power to prevent the sale of DVDs/BDs ... 3 Seasons of the "Toast of London" (Matt Berry) is $155-250 used?! DVDs there were available a few weeks ago are now no lon...

Agree, the RJ45 Transceivers do get hot. I'd thought about fiber runs but I have too many tight corners so went with Cat8.

Most of the Jon Pertwee years BDs, still working on the Tom Baker BDs onwards.

Re: Why do TV series DVD/BD add both 1080 and 480 and joined versions?
I should clarify, the BDs have both 480 and 1080 of the same episodes, why both?

Why do TV series DVD/BD add both 1080 and 480 and joined versions?
I've been converting many Dr. Who's (both classic and current) and noticed the newer BDs would have duplicate sets/episodes in both 1080 and 480? Even worse, they would concatenate all the episodes into another one LONG video using a ton of DVD/BD space and obviously making MKV conversions longer .....

Re: So now what? Purchased flashed Pioneer BD, Purchased MakeMKV, so how to convert and playback?
If I could do 100G within my budget I would. I'm actually Trunking a couple of 10G ports for 20G between two computers, but the most are 10G. I'm using Cat 8 cable (don't need optical/fiber since my distances aren't that long) and a few QNAP 10G switches and few 10G NICs and a bunch of 10G SFP to RJ...

Re: So now what? Purchased flashed Pioneer BD, Purchased MakeMKV, so how to convert and playback?
Yeah, most likely will do in the future ... right now I need to get a 10G NIC or USB-C to 10G adapter as the motherboard only supports 2.5G ... most of my home network is all 10G except this NAS I built.
Cheers, Rob.

Re: A lot of "new" DVDs/BDs come damaged?
Those DVD/BD cases are probably the worse design possible for transportation and storage. On arrival I immediately transfer the BD/DVD to a protective sleeve and place in large case (slotted hangers) that holds about 1000 per case. I toss the case since all the data and cover art etc. is present in ...

A lot of "new" DVDs/BDs come damaged?
I've had a large number of "new" (purchased new in wrappers/cases) of DVDs and BDs that have come with long scratches and damaged surface area. These are brand new out of the container. Now that BestBuy is no longer selling DVDs/BDs (easy to return if bad), I have to order everything onlin...

Re: Feature request for makeMKV - auto check/uncheck child nodes
Many thanks for the link ... too funny, just can't seem to rid myself of XML file editing even in 2024. Add this process to my UI request
I hope I'm not coming across wrong, makeMKV gets the job done of conversions, just would like to see some UI love.
Cheers, Rob.

Re: Feature request for makeMKV - auto check/uncheck child nodes
I haven't done this (as I like to keep all languages, myself) but I believe there's an option within the user profile to specify what languages you want, and don't, as the case may be. I did find something in the Advanced Settings called "Default Selection Rule" with value: -sel:all,+sel:...

Re: Feature request for makeMKV - auto check/uncheck child nodes
Ok, but the UI implement should cycle thru and check or uncheck all items under the parent node. As you pointed out the implemented code may ignore the unchecked items under the parent node, but the UI is what the user sees and that leaves ambiguity ... and to be honest, I've never seen a Tree List ...

Re: Feature request for makeMKV - auto check/uncheck child nodes
Right-click, (un)select all. So this "feature" doesn't seem to be very useful and is not being implemented correctly for a Tree List control. 1. Toggle Item doesn't uncheck/check the child nodes under the item tree. 2. Unselect/Select all only operates on the node level and doesn't change...

Nah that's just a read error from a dirty or scratched disc You were correct, tried cleaning but still no go, so I put the disk under my scope and took some pics of the damage: Weird burn mark? https://i.imgur.com/pz83SAO.jpg Many pits https://i.imgur.com/xo6aLwG.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PZP1fG6.jpg...
