Re: Recommendation for best (most reliable and versatile) LibreDrive for 2024?
The BDR-XD07TS is a much better drive than the 43888 which we also stock with a Carry Case In what way exactly? The 43888 is a Pioneer LibreDrive out of the box which can be bought from Amazon for a whooping 99 bucks with a regular 2-year warranty. I doubt that the BDR-XD07TS acts any different to ...

Re: Recommendation for best (most reliable and versatile) LibreDrive for 2024?
After a few days of research without much prior knowledge I came to the conclusion that you've got to ask you some questions befor you buy a drive. - Pioneer vs LG and others [quality vs feasibility/availability] - flash it yourself vs buy it preflashed [cheap vs expensive] - 5,25" vs slim [rob...

Disadvantages of Slimdrives?
Hi, I was just wondering if there are relevant disadvantages of e.g. 9,5 mm thin slim drives over 5,25" wide internal drives? Or just to make it more specific. In the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023 https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19634 are several drives which p...

Place internal 5,25 drive vertically
Hey guys, I was just wondering if it is possible to mount an internal 5,25" optical disc drive vertically. There are external enclosures for those drives and it would be nice if you could mount them to the wall. But many or most internal drives do not have these disc clamps but you just lay the...

Re: Verbatim 34888 is super
Which is better? 1) Verbatim 43888 Slimline with Pioneer UD04 (~100 bucks) 2) Archgon MD-8107S-U3YC-UHDB-K with LG BU40N (~150 bucks) These are two slim drives I can buy in my country right now as I see them on Amazon and both should work more or less out of the box or with little effort. But whic...

Re: Recommendation for best (most reliable and versatile) LibreDrive for 2024?
Same question as OP. From Germany. Looking for a recommended 5.25" SATA drive for unlimited UHD usage. Currently I am about to buy a slim LG BU40N drive but I'd rather go for a more solid one from Pioneer and put a case around it. Please PM me.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Is there a chance that the Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD / BDR-XS07UHD or BDR-S13U will be flashable for casual users in the future? Guess I'll have to go for a BU40N drive now because of that crap.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Hi guys, I just created an account to ask. I was about to order a drive from USA to Europe "Pioneer BDR-S13UBK" and to flash it myself but then I saw a post that it is not possible to flash them as 'amateur' user? So what is the current recommendation? I just want an UHD-BD drive that coul...
