Re: 3D Blu-Ray rip solution
Yeah that's fine, I'm just saying that - in a manner of speaking - this is basically editing a conf file ("cli type stuff") that you just happen to do through the gui.

Well.. that's a start.
I note the site actually mentions makemkv .. now all we need is makemkv to be able to pull the metadata ..

Thanks, I'll experiment.

Re: Godzilla v Kong
I read three separate threads today saying the BU40N in a USB enclosure often does this when its power supply is not up to the job. Start there.

Re: Anyone else having issues with ripping Avatar WoW Disc 1?
FWIW I have succesfully ripped my 3D UK release disks to a pair of mkv files using a bog standard Matsushita BDRW drive from 2016 or so.

Re: 3D blu-ray is dead, may it rest in peace.
Sad isn't it. It seems so stupid to actually remove the support for a format, even if they stop shipping the glasses by default. I still have Panasonic plasmas and the 3D is really excellent.

Re: Meg 3D
No it just means there's two virtual copies of the movie on the disk - e.g. with different audio tracks, or maybe a different title sequence for another language. Pick either and make sure you expand the title and select "MVC Video 3D" to include the 3D video data. Your next challenge (bec...

My suspicion is that the beta status also potentially keeps the lawyers focussed elsewhere ..

I disagree, application errors don't cause kernel panics. Kernel errors cause kernel panics..
I realise makemkv uses some low level device commands at times but that's no excuse for the kernel to panic. Take the complaint to Apple.

Re: Initial Start-up
The nature of a program that interacts with optical drives is that those drives sometimes take many seconds to respond to individual requests, so applications can be made to wait several seconds quite often. I'm ok with this, it's expected. The alternative is programmers spend time writing multi-thr...

Re: What is the correct play list [insert title here]?
I must be missing something here. If a Blu-Ray player knows which title to play, that information must be on the disk somewhere, right? If it is on the disk somewhere, why can't MakeMKV use it so that it doesn't have to guess?? Because it requires a human to read the picture of some text that's on ...

Re: [Feature Request/Bug] Font Size Scaling - Font Size Too Small
Some comments to raise here. First, and relevant to all, but particularly the RDP users .. - Font scaling is only applied at Windows session startup . So if you start an RDP session from a display device with middling DPI (e.g. a 1920x1080 24" monitor) that's the DPI the apps get told to render...

Re: Easy way to get titles in order on TV series...
I'm aware of the DMCA, and I would argue (though I'm sure they'd attempt to disagree) that all you'd be offering with such a database is "metadata" and there's no inherent infingement there. Let's face it, makemkv already walks this line and survives. I know in a world full of lawyers the ...

Re: NLMeans too slow in Handbrake?? Try this!
Agree, denoise is a very effective way of reducing the output file size and output bitrate, no question. Noise is very bitrate expensive (as is high detail level). I've usually plugged on with NLMeans thus far and just left it running, keep the queue long. For non-HD source content I can imagine 720...
