Re: Java worked on MakeMKV until it didn't. (Mac OS)
Hey, so awhile back I installed Java. MakeMKV seemed to pick it up, and it was so nice. After all of these years using the software, being able to identify things like which one is the main feature was very handy. However, I don't seem to be able to find it now. Is there a work around? If it's some...

Re: Dump Submitted - Arcane Season 2 4K (Collector's Edition 4K)
In the meantime, you could download and configure the public keyDB. It is an alternative source of decryption keys that MakeMKV also supports. Dumps from Pioneer drives aren't that useful to them to add keys, but any brand of drive can make use of existing keys from the keyDB. So my drive is a Pion...

Re: Dump Submitted - Arcane Season 2 4K (Collector's Edition 4K)
Just attach a .tgz file to an email and send it. .tgz files are usually compressed tar files. Since they're already compressed trying to compress it again with zip won't really help. :) Well, I sent out the email yesterday. I hope they get it. At first uncompressed it, and found the file in the fol...

Re: Arcane Season 2 4K Disc One Not Reading
Dump submitted for all three discs, and sent it to the email. I'm sorry I'm not tech savvy and I'm not entirely sure how all of this works.
I was supposed to submit the .tgz files unzipped, right?

Dump Submitted - Arcane Season 2 4K (Collector's Edition 4K)
I'm not sure if these are exactly the same discs as the 4K Steelbook. This is what popped up on my log: "Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files. Saved AACS dump file as /Users/user/Library/MakeMKV/MKB20_v82_ARCANE_SEASON_2_-_DISC_1_FFC6.tgz The volume key is unknown for ...

Re: Arcane Season 1 4K to Blu-ray comparison--the blu-ray looks better. (perhaps an issue with converting the DV Profile
I had one thought. When you use the software, you select a folder. Is it possible that converting all three episodes at once may have caused issues? Does DV7 to DV8 have issues with converting the profile in batches of files? I'm guessing not since the program is designed to convert whole files, but...

Arcane Season 1 4K to Blu-ray comparison--the blu-ray looks better. (perhaps an issue with converting the DV Profile?)
So I have the Season One Collector's Edition of Arcane Season One, which includes both the 4K discs and the regular blu-ray. I have Macbook Pro M3 Pro laptop that supports Dolby Vision. I have, on the recommendation of a user on the forum, used the software "DV7 to DV8" to change the Dolby...

Re: Dolby Vision, HDR Playback on Macs
Just a quick question. Does Apple have any issues with HDR10+? I just want to know if there's anything else I need to do for discs that don't have Dolby Vision support. There are very few 4K UHD discs that have HDR10+ and do not have DV also. Someone wrote a little program that would convert HDR10+...

Re: Dolby Vision, HDR Playback on Macs
4K UHD discs with DV use Dolby Vision profile 7.0. Makemkv rips these titles to DV profile 7.0. In Mediainfo, the MKV rips should report something like this in the video HDR format line: "Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, Profile 7.6, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, no metadata compression, Blu-ray compatible...

Blooming on Macbook Pro with HDR files
Hey there, so I've certainly made a lot of progress with my journey to play HDR films on my computer. The firmware issue with my Pioneer drive has been fixed. I installed Infuse, which can properly handle HDR formats. I was informed that I need to play Dolby Vision files in Dolby Vision 8 for Macs, ...

Re: Dolby Vision, HDR Playback on Macs
So update. It turns out that if I hover the mouse over the video information, I get a more detailed report. That is a very counter intuitive user interface. It turns out that using DV7 to DV8 is effective. Would it be possible to get an explanation as to why the file is smaller when I convert to DV8...
