Re: Conversion
MakeMKV should first focus on getting the packaging to MKV flawless (do one thing, do it well). The reason most people don't change the encoding of the audio/video is because of the amount of time involved, especially with formats like h264. After you have things packaged up in MKV, you should be ab...

Re: the big bang theory (season 1, disk 1)
I can confirm that 1.4.2 did correct this issue with "the big bang theory, season 1, disk 1" however "the usual suspects" still has issues (details in the usual suspects thread).

Re: oceans thirteen
This problem is still present in 1.4.2 When MakeMKV freezes (shows "not responding" in the title bar and indeed does not respond) and deletes the partial mkv, the output size shows "4058.1 M". Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Re: all subtitles are the same language
I should mention that the results are the same if MakeMKV is pointed directly at the disk or at the DVDFAB5HD extracted directory.

Re: all subtitles are the same language
The first episode on the disk appears to have been extracted correctly, with all the subtitles (in 1.4.1 it only extracted english subtitles). However, the remaining 4 episodes only extract the intro sequence for the episode producing mkvs about 30K each and 30 seconds long (the first episode is abo...

Re: usual suspects
I've tried this again with MakeMKV 1.4.2 but I get almost the same output. Note that even though it says 1 title was saved ("successfully" is typoed as "sucessfully" btw), the only thing produced is a 4k mkv (it only took about 2 seconds to produce this mkv). It plays in VLC and ...

FAILURE: code 3
On Family Guy Volume 4, Disk 1 I noticed several errors. The .mkvs appear to be fine, but is this indicative of a (potential) problem? Opening files on harddrive at X:/DVDFAB_TMP/FullDisc/FAMILY_GUY_V4_D1/VIDEO_TS/ Calculated BUP offset does not match one in IFO header. Calculated BUP offset does no...

the big bang theory (season 1, disk 1)
MakeMKV failed to extract the first episode on The Big Bang Theory, Season 1, Disk 1 (debug output below). All other episodes appear to have been packaged correctly. MakeMKV was pointed at a DVDFAB5HD extraction of the disk. It looks similar to errors found on "the usual suspects", which a...

Re: all subtitles are the same language
IFOs attached. This also happens to be the same disk that MakeMKV fails to extract 4 of the 5 episodes on it (as referenced at http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=189)

usual suspects
MakeMKV fails almost immediately (debug output below) on my Usual Suspects DVD (widescreen side, not sure about the other side). I tried decrypting it with DVDFAB5HD first (the decryption worked), but MakeMKV fails with exactly the same output when pointed at the resulting IFO on disk. Using direct ...

oceans thirteen
When I tried to extract just the main stream (and all audio/subtitle tracks) from the original Ocean's Thirteen DVD, MakeMKV fails near the very end. I then extracted the whole disk using DVDFab5HD and pointed MakeMKV at the IFO in video_ts. Unfortunately this didn't work either (I would provide deb...

Re: Subtitle Position
When you have soft subs (i.e. selectable subs), the player should control where to display the subtitles.

Re: Feature Request: Reencode to 720p
I agree with Mike. I think MakeMKV should continue to improve upon what it is doing right now - ripping to mkv (including all the subtitles and audio streams) without "mucking with" the data. There are other apps for changing the encoding of audio, video, etc in existing mkvs - I fully exp...

I can confirm that volume 2 disk 3 of futurama still exhibits this behavior in 1.4.1 beta.
