You could try MPC-HC with MPC Video Renderer instead of VLC.

If you use hard drives in your NAS, it's not a good idea to directly rip four discs in parallel to it. The files will most likely end up very fragmented on the disc because they can't be written in one go to adjacent cells.

If the sticker states it's a Verbatim 43888, the seller either changed the sticker or changed the drive in the enclosure.
Based on the inlcuded drive, MakeMKV should either show a Pioneer BDR-UD04 or an LG BD-RE BU40N.
