Re: Ripping is fine, but what about burning ?
I still burn data BD-Rs occasionally but I use dedicated drives just for burning. As said, I don't want to wear out laser on my ripping drives. And strictly single layer discs. If it is to last it has to be without steroids.

Re: Recommended Drives for (Blu-ray) Recovery
That is the new version of BW-16D1HT. It is LibreDrive capable btw. They are discontinued now I am pretty sure. Last pieces manufactured around June/July(?) 2025.

Re: Doctor Who Season 13 US Release - Newer version of AACS protection
Honestly, MakeMKV should start decrypting at least standard blu-rays on all AACS versions. It is a rather ridiculous situation at the moment when people keep coming to these threads here asking for help over and over again. How many more topics will have to be created till this gets changed? At ...

Re: Switchblade Romance / High Tension (2003) Dump submitted
In Windows you can use the KeyDB Helper (Windows Only) program that will unlock standard blu-ray discs even on Pioneer drives and even offline. And it is very user friendly, just click the buttons, no messing around...

Re: 28 Years Later - says v82 is to new?
Can somebody make this clear for me please:
Is there a difference between clicking on the link in MakeMKV and sending a dump file to svq@makemkv.com?
Thank you.

Re: Back to the Future 3 rip fail
Is that a brand new disc or a used one? I have never experienced any issue with standard blu-ray discs apart from the latest AACS v82 decryption but that is a different story and solved now. ASUS BW-16D1HT, Pioneer 212-EBK and LG BU40N. All of them rip 100%. Most discs I buy are brand new, some of ...

Re: Changes Aspect Ratio
Slightly off-topic but when I was still using Zidoo X10 their built in player was not able to stretch any DVD remuxes according to this AR flag in MKV. There are even threads about this on their website and they never fixed it. I had to manually set the aspect ratio for every single DVD remux video ...

Re: Backup Failed - AACS Dump attached
I can confirm that the KeyDB Helper (Windows Only) program will unlock standard blu-ray discs even on Pioneer drives and even offline. Absolutely no need to post dumps here and ask for keys unless you do not have a Windows computer.

If it is a BU40N that is not true. I was using the latest 1.3.6 version and BU40N was connected to SATA in my laptop. No problem at all.Reveille wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 9:06 pm Please note that you must use SDF Tool Flasher v1.3.5 I couldn't get the new flasher to work with this drive.

Re: SDF update November 2025
That is a surprise. Pre-2022 drives are used as-is for UHD ripping, or so it's claimed elsewhere. I always thought the only reason newer drives couldn't be used for UHD was the lack of LibreDrive.
Who told you this? Even if it is a pre-2023 Pioneer with LibreDrive enabled, it does not mean it ...

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
AACS1.0 discs can still be processed and submitted to the keydb when the disc dump is in the 50-150KB range but this is only possible because the full AACS1.0 MKB_RO.inf file is present within the disc dump.
The main reason I asked because I can see people posting separate MKB_RO.inf files on ...

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Is MKB_RO.inf link really needed for MKB_v82 1080p standard blu-rays? I refer to my last post where I posted dumps from LibreDrive Pioneer 212-EBK WITHOUT MKB_RO.inf and it worked that way.
