Re: Pioneer BDR-XD08B on Amazon
Yeah, you can use it to rip CD/DVD/BD except for the newest AACS v82 as it will revoke the drive certificate. This is the main feature of LibreDrive. When enabled, MakeMKV doesn't care about any revoking and allows you to continue using the drive. Even with Pioneer LibreDrive enabled, on regular AA...

Re: What do I do with an AACS dump?
I have submitted the files to KeyDB and now it is working! Confirmed using MakeMKV offline just with the key.cfg. I wonder what this means that MakeMKV could block it in the future: For what it is worth your Pioneer 212-EBK is currently producing usable disc dumps for AACS 1.0 (1080p) Blu-ray discs....

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Following the discussion here I am posting MKB_v82 standard blu-ray TGZ dump files (Pioneer 212-EBK LibreDrive). It is my first time contributing so I hope I did it right. Three newly released Czech movies on blu-ray by Magicbox: Pane, vy jste vdova! (You Are a Widow, Sir!) Stíny horkého léta (Shado...

Re: What do I do with an AACS dump?
I would still recommend contributing your TGZ dump files for ordinary Blu-Ray disks to the public KEYDB, with the possible exception of your drive being a Verbatim 43888 containing a BDR-UD04. It is a 212-EBK (desktop drive, firmware 1.02 / 2022-03-09, LibreDrive Status: Enabled). So you say for st...

Re: What do I do with an AACS dump?
Thanks for making it 100% clear to me. Should I email those "MKB_v82" TGZ files from .MakeMKV folder or is it enough when I just click on that link in MakeMKV that says "Please let us know about it by visiting..."? Since I am using Pioneer drive I cannot contribute to public keyd...

Re: What do I do with an AACS dump?
OK, so even LibreDrive needs support right? I thought it was supposed to automatically bypass that AACS protection.

Re: What do I do with an AACS dump?
So here is the proof: LibreDrive Pioneer, standard blu-ray - not possible to make backup. Should I report this? Drive Information OS device name: E: Current profile: BD-ROM Manufacturer: PIONEER Product: BD-RW BDR-212M Revision: 1.02 Serial number: xxx Firmware date: 2022-03-09 Bus encryption flags:...

Re: Blu-Ray burning software in 2025...
One thing I noticed: Nero Burning Rom has the option to enable Defect management for blu-rays. I do not think other software is capable of this. I had to use this for crappy double-layer 50 GB BD-Rs made by Mediarange. The problem was that they recorded OK but failed to read back on layers break. On...

Re: What do I do with an AACS dump?
This does not happen if you have a libredrive drive That is not true. I have a Pioneer 212-EBK in Libre Drive mode (old firmware) backing up blu-rays (not 4ks) and I just got 2 error messages on 2 new movies and back up failed. I just clicked on that link: Please let us know... assuming it will do ...

Re: MakeMKV Expired Key Work Around (MakeMKV-Loader)
Believe it or not, but simple clean text BAT file of several bytes that you launch as admin can also solve this problem. Thanks to the author who posted this on reddit. Just make sure you register MakeMKV with old key first, no disc in drive. Ripped a blu-ray movie without problems. https://www.redd...

Re: All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported
Do you people even realize that drives can be fixed when they age? I mean it will probably get to the point when there will be no more new drives anyway. And slim drives better than desktop ones? Perhaps for snapping your discs with that flimsy hub design they have.

As for LG/ASUS, I have come across an interesting video yesterday... They are certainly fixable/tweakable!

Re: All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported
Awesome news. That means there is still hope for my unopened still in the box Pioneer BDR-212EBK (bought in 2024) then read that all after 2022 were pretty much unflashable and kept it in the box and bought me a 2nd LG. Now I can get me another ICY-BoX If you opened the box, the drive could have be...
