Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Nothing gets discarded. I just replace the L1-L2 and add L3 L8 L9 So it's possible to replace all levels in a P7 FEL RPU? The FEL layer isn't "tied" to L1? Interesting detail: based on my tests, cm_analyze is deterministic - for the same input and arguments, the generated RPU is always id...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I would generate cmv4.0. The whole movie L1 is under your TV tone mapping target nits. It doesn't matter how much editing they did in the trims... Unless they deliver a trim, the HDR10 layer always has the original HDR master brightness/grade and should be the reference, the intended representation...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
thanks, I will add your TV to the chart. hard clipping point 1100nits? yep, 1100nits. Damn, now I’m really torn about whether to generate DV for The Return of the King ... The original DV was already created using the new algorithm, with an MDL of 4000 nits, and it actually has really rich L2 trims...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I would generate cmv4.0 for movies made in the old/original cmv2.9 algo (the ones with no automatic trims, no cmv4.0 to 2.9 conversion). For the cmv2.9 rpu with automatic L2 trims from the cmv4.0 workflow master, I guess it's fine(minus black crush). I ran some tests on my Sony A95L, and it seems t...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
You can restore cmv4.0 on a P7 rip with the metadata from web streaming. If no cmv4.0 source is available, then I will just generate it. But wouldn’t generating CMv4.0 metadata mean losing the original manual L2 trims? In that case, wouldn’t it be better to just stick with CMv2.9 if those trims wer...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@RESET_9999, I have questions regarding HDR to Dolby Vision conversion and proxy encoding. 1. cm_analyze vs. Resolve for DV conversion: which produces better (more accurate) RPU? I've generated RPU XML files using both DaVinci Resolve (following your tutorial) and cm_analyze , and noticed difference...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
BDMV support is great, just got my Ugoos and installed the stable CoreELEC 21.0-Omega release. However, when I play BDMV or .ts/m2ts dual track, double layer DV content, the video only plays in HDR, not DV. Do I miss something, maybe? DTDL support is under active development so it is only available...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
There is one more difference between the signal from x800m2 and Ugoos, at least according to the Sony A95L OSD.
The signal from the x800m2 shows neither color space nor color depth - with the signal from Ugoos OSD shows 8bit.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
are you sure though? From your pics it looks like there is a difference: https://slow.pics/c/SqFAiJKa perhaps your room is too bright to see it? My pictures were taken in a pitch-black room without any light and my DSLR camera (not phone) settings are locked. https://slow.pics/c/Hn8RGz0x - unfortun...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
here I marked whats wrong with each device: https://slow.pics/c/0njV9U5X I tested the same pattern on my Sony A95L and the results are quite different: Ugoos (CoreELEC V21 - latest nightly 0330) and x800m2 seem to track ST2084 the same. In contrast, the internal application is completely broken :D ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I will soon stop using my x800m2 though because if you haven't heard, the old UGOOS AM6plus is now stable with FEL, supports CMV4.0, and does true TV-LED. Let's assume that Ugoos AM6B Plus is stable with FEL - will it be better in terms of image quality than x800m2? Does the x800m2 support CMv4.0?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Thanks! But I noticed, the --dvh1flag option is not working. This would be necessary for playback on Apple TV (with tvOS 17). Can you fix it? This solution works until: https://github.com/rixtox/mp4dovi Since its introduction, the '--dvh1flag {trackId}' flag has only worked with DV profiles: 1, 3 o...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Since the 1.3.2-alpha3 version seems to be fully stable, I released it as 1.3.2 :) https://github.com/bbeny123/mp4muxer/releases/tag/1.3.2 Version 1.3.2 differs from 1.3.1 in that for DV profiles > 7 the codec configuration box is set to dvcC instead of dvvC (mp4box_64bits 1.0.0 also set dvcC). This...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
"Original file" meaning the RPU injected hevc-file? The Original from the UHD is without Dolby. If you provide a download link via PM I could upload. I dont't need it anymore, I managed to find some other video with DV profile 8.1 :) Could you please check out version 1.3.2-alpha3? It sho...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Alpha 2 triggers Dolby on my Oppo, Alpha 1 fails. MP4 in alpha 1 und 2 is hev1, in ver 1.0 they are dvhe (nevertheless triggering Dolby) Could you share a sample of original file? Only HDR on LG B8. Have you tried the 1.3.2-alpha2: https://github.com/bbeny123/mp4muxer/releases/tag/1.3.2-alpha2 ?
