Maybe I should ask this question, does anyone successfully use an Nvidia Shield to play back HDR MakeMkv rips (without washed out colors)? If so what app do you use?
Whatever this issue is, it isn't a Handbrake thing, the same issue happened with the full sized rip

Re-ripped Wretch-It Ralph this morning. Tried playing the rip both on Channels DVR and Kodi. Channels DVR- RIp does not play beyond the first second or two, screen becomes garbled. Are you saying that running the file through Handbrake may have intoduced the problem? I hadn't considered that.
