Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Did the comparison again with smooth gradation off but it doesn't change anything. I hardly see any difference between the HDR10 sample files and the Dovi ones. Are you watching in a dark room? Near black Posterization and banding on LG OLED TVs is a well-known issue, and many people have moved to ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

yes, you have to disable smooth gradation. This setting removes fine details anyway. Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Yes. Both files play like they should on my Ugoos on LG G1. Thanks. Lucky you ! Could you please also try the banding and black fade samples in HDR10 and DV, and see if you get the same as my C2? https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=171761#p171761 thanks Yes I did this also. But I didn't...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

It is really noticeable. iTunes P5 colors look washed out compared to HDR10 or P8, especially red and green. P5 is just more efficient, and it has reshaping data like FEL, so the colors are improved (unless it's from Apple), but this is not something you would notice because it exceeds our 10-bit d...

Hi RESET_9999, I have a question regarding the Chroma Weight bug on the LG models since 2022.
Just to confirm, the LG G1 from 2021 does NOT have this Chroma Weight bug ?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

So CPM build always generates L5 - even when it's missing L5 ?
What does it generate exactly ? Does it use 0 (zero) value in those cases ?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Big thanks to RESET_9999 and skull88 for the suggestions about the best (=most accurate) picture settings for DoVi on my LG G1. I have to agree that Cinema Home is too bright, thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I'm surprised they didn't rename your ''cinema'' picture mode to ''filmmaker...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Yes, I am using the settings from P40L0 for my LG G1. I see he did some small new changes when looking at the corresponding file on Patriot. Colour was warm 50 but is now changed to warm 45 for example. So I am a little in doubt if changing brightness from level 49 (P40L0 setting) to level 50 (stan...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Thanks. Will changing brightness just slightly from 50 to 49 have a big impact on the colors/hue? I'm no expert about this but yes, it is better to change the white balance. Maybe @chros will chime in, he's the expert. @daffie may be referring to these 'optimized settings' maintained by P40L0 . I u...
