Re: What is www.makemkv.net?
This definitely isn't the MakeMKV you know and love.
It is registered to an address in Iceland. Also, a good reason to register domains for your product with popular .com, .net etc so fakes like this do not pop up.

I have the ASUS drive, I got on sale a while ago on Amazon, and it is great. I would buy again.

Re: Preview, please!
Just use VLC to use MakeMKV as a decryption engine to play encrypted disks. To get to this go to View > Preferences > Integrations Tab. Enjoy!

Re: Combining multiple titles to one movie.mkv file
I use MKVToolNix. It was built for merging two MKV files and super easy to use. You can also break apart single MKV files by chapter if you want for those pesky TV shows that rip in a single file with episodes in chapters. MakeMKV is strictly for getting the files off the disk into an MKV container.

Re: TV shows and episodes
I only know about KODI which uses "S01E01 - The Venture Bros.mkv" as an example and if you want you can put it in a season folder for your convivence. You can also do "S00E01 - Letterkenny.mkv" for specials etc. I don't rip DVD/Blueray extras at all so I have no idea how you deal...

Re: Way to rename rips for Plex?
Not sure of a tool like that but I use KODI and its scraper does a decent job of finding what I need and allows for custom search if I named something oddly or not quite right. I have not used Plex. Does it not have a scraper like that? You can use the advanced features in MakeMKV to customize the n...

Re: Splitting apart episodes
With MKVToolNix some TV shows, like the Venture Bros for example, use two chapters per episode. You have to do chapter numbers like 1,3,5,7,9,11 and then say max number of files 6. It will then split them every two chapters into 6 files. A little painful but better than having one large MKV file for...

Re: How are you playing your rips / with what
I don't have anything fancy. A media PC (my old PC converted to host media and do the Ripping/Handbrake stuff. Has an old GTX 970 in it.), KODI with a SQL server to remember where I am in my media (and watch via my phone or another PC/SteamDeck if I want) and some nice Bose QC45 headphones as most o...
