Re: Idiots Guide To 3D
Hi, I have tried today and definitely can't get my MVC rips to work with powerdvd 12, stereoscopic player is the only program I find that works properly, not sure what you guys are doing different but I have about 15 blu rays ripped to my drive and all show multiview count of 2 so the rip is correc...

Re: Idiots Guide To 3D
PWDVD 12 is currently playing in spectacular full 3D from my initial makemkv 3D backup of a retail disk that resulted in a 30GB .mkv of "Drive Angry". I was a bit surprised after reading here and there about players not supporting MVC, also from my first attempt at playing directly from th...

Re: How-2 Install MakeMKV for non-Debian Linux (openSuSE)
Although this thread was initially intended openSuSE, but also is about installing on non-Debian Linux, then some may like to know that all is working in PCLinuxOS KDE4. Added the specific dependencies which were all in the Synaptic PCL repository. then did the "make" and "install&quo...

So does that mean..... it is "solved" by doing what was the recommended first procedure....following command to install all prerequisites ?gdtilghman wrote:Looks like i needed to install libdev for openssl as well...even though i had openssl already installed.

Re: Linux GUI - 3 Bugs on Ubuntu 11.10
I guess I'm a little bit curious as to why MakeMKV is locking the drive in the first place. Can't it be notified when someone presses the eject button and cancel its current operation? Failing that, if it can no longer read from the device, can't it assume the disc has been ejected and either promp...

Re: 3D Bluray
Current versions retain all 3D information when doing a full disc backup. The next version will have an option to put 3D MVC extension stream into MKV file. The MVC extension stream is related to AVC stream very similarly to what DTS-HD is to DTS stream - most players initially will ignore MVC exte...

Re: Is converting disc content to mkv files really necessary
(...)It is very much appreciated by me and I'm sure many other Linux users. :). +1 from me! And I too have dumped the whole idea of burning media to discs altogether. MakeMKV+Handbrake+mkvtoolnix-gui+XBMC (more specificaly openelec in my case) - the perfect combination and all native linux. My than...

Re: The program can't find any usable optical drives.
Hi metagol. What version of VLC? I've had to sometime set Audio from the preferences to ... Win32 wave out.... in new 1.0 versions and prior nightlies for 5.1 playback along with the typical SPDIF/Out setting and connected out from coaxial or optical Output connection. Have for tried any other Playe...

Re: Ripped DVD doesn't play
I've got 2 discs (Australia & Blues Brothers) which won't play after being ripped with MakeMKV 1.4.4. The MKV is the correct size, but the player (MPC-HC + Haali or Gabest) hangs. Remuxing with MKVMerge gives a 10kb-MKV with no content. Try the latest version 1.4.5. Have you had prior success w...

Re: TrueHD
Why not support decoding and losslessly compressing of TrueHD and DTS-MA to FLAC like eac3to does? What's the point of ripping Blu Rays if you lose the HD Audio? This is the only thing stopping me from using this program. Many other ripping front ends do support this, and they support it now. MakeM...

Re: blu-ray to mkv
At present, you will need a program such as AnyDVD-HD for your original Bluray disc before using MakeMKV. Once you have Anydvdhd loaded, with few exceptions, you can then use MakeMKV right from the disc to create the MKV(s). No need to move files or rebuild. Unless there has been an immediate chang...

Re: Reencoding AFTER makemkv
There is always an old long way: 1. use mkvextract to extract m2v video only 2. convert it to h264 (many options), optionally detelecine and crop 3. mux a new MKV with mkvmerge using your h264 track and all audio/chapters from original MKV. Hi Mike. Without the Power, then.... "there is always...
