Re: DNS/IP Filtering
In addition to @TVBanks98, there are some further issues to resolve. I notice that Makemkv seems to do DNS queries to specific servers using DNS over HTTPS (TLS port 443), rather than use the DNS settings of the host pc. There does not seem to be a way of telling makemkv to use the pc's settings. My...

Re: TrueHD: 0 Audio Channels
UPDATE:
I have now repeated it with the very latest ffmpeg version and it no longer works with TrueHD audio.
Plays in VLC but not in JRMC

Re: TrueHD: 0 Audio Channels
I forgot to mention that you need to do the optional part first, this isnt clear in the post.
If you get an error when you make, that is to do with a deprecated array, there is a solution to this in this forum, just search for the error and array name.

Re: TrueHD: 0 Audio Channels
I had this problem and it was only the case the the Linux version, the Windows version worked fine. However, in my case I noticed that linux tends to have an older version of ffmpeg, which makemkv uses. Try installing the latest version of ffmpeg, this worked in my case. You will need to follow the ...

Re: MakeMKV for Windows and Linux Produce different UHD rips
@dcoke22 Thanks for the suggestion regarding ffmpeg, it led me the way to solving this. I originally installed MakeMKV from the Software Manager in Linux Mint and noticed that it comes as a flatpack, so it got me speculating that ffmpeg might not be a recent version, even though MakeMKV was the late...

MakeMKV for Windows and Linux Produce different UHD rips
I have been investigating an issue where I have been unable to play makeMKV UHD rips on JRMC 30. If I use Makemkv for Windows (v1.17.3) and rip a UHD the uses TrueHD audio, it can be played on both JRMC30 for Windows and Linux. If I rip the same disc using MakeMKV for Linux (v1.17.3 for Linux Mint),...

Re: DNS/IP Filtering
Well looking at the network packets, it looks like it is looking for host1.pwhost.ru and Downloads.napp-2.com, though even though it can contact these it still doesnt work without a VPN, so I guess there is something else that is being blocked that I am not seeing.

Re: DNS Issues in the US for hkdata.fairuse.org
Cannot resolve ip address for hkdata, fairuse, org in the UK either. I also get latest hk not being able to download unless I use a VPN, then it works. What I really want to know is what server Makemkv is looking for to download the HK file, so I can do some testing. Does anyone know the server Makemk...

Re: UHD Drive having Trouble Reading Some 4K Discs.
Make sure your discs are clean and if it still fails it could be a comms issue. To check a comms issue, run up a VPN on the machine and try again while the VPN is running. If it works there is an issue with IP or DNS filtering I imagine.

Re: DNS/IP Filtering
@woodstock Yes I saw that but MakeMKV say that fairuse.org is no longer used.
I am assuming that MakeMKV must go through a simple process to determine if new HK data is available and where it is located

DNS/IP Filtering
I gave recently started trying to rip UHD 4k Discs and was getting a "volume key is unknown for this disc" error for every disc I tried. To determine if this was a DNS/IP filtering issue, I spun up a VPN for the machine and tried again. This time I got a "downloading latest HK to c:\....
