Thanks. I did some more reading as you suggested and finally updated both my external ASUS_BW-16D1X-U and
my internal LG BD-RE WH16NS40 to HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.03. Both are working on 4k UHD media.

Thanks Billy - Is there much a performance difference between let say the ASUS-BW-16D1H-U-A204 and HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.03? Just wondering if these options are similar to preferences in choosing a car like someone preferring a GM product over a Chrysler product? There appears to be a few choice...

Thanks for the quick response. I'd like to try it myself. I've downloaded the SDFtool Flasher (v1.3.5) but I'm not sure what firmware I should flash it to. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Looks like it's probably a BH16NS40 same as the asus desktop drive. Weird that they changed the drive have it labeled as bh50n I would probably flash it with asus 3.10 or WH16NS60 1.02. UHD is probably possible on it but really no one has tried with that exact setup hopefully it's just a sticker ch...
