Okay. I am very new to using Makemkv. I am not new to ripping discs with another program. However, that other program doesn't work at all with UHD discs, at least not for me. Can someone point me to the thread that explains this process of finding these keys and dropping them into Makemkv? Is it thi...
You have to download the keydb.cfg file (search the interwebthingies, you'll find it) and then drop it into your MakeMKV's data directory (see, preferences, general tab). Once you do that, if there's an entry for your title, it'll open fine. I thought according to this https://forum.makemkv.com/for...
I'm running into the same issue "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted. Failed to open disc" When you say the latest keydb.cfg works, can you explain that more. Been using MakeMKV for years now and have not come across this mentioned previously. Is this someth...

I live in the U.S., Colorado. It would be nice to have an external drive that is USB capable. I already have an LG internal. ...

Then use LG 1.03 firmware from their site and directions to flash back to 1.03. Yes, I am aware that it will no longer read UHD discs. Thanks. Correct. T...
You would need to flash the drive to WH16NS40 1.02-MK first as the official LG flasher for the WH16NS40 won't find your drive until it is on WH16NS40 firmware. Also, just so you are aware, if you flash it back to stock WH16NS40 1.03 firmware, it will no longer be able to read UHD discs. Okay, just ...
Okay, probably a dumb question, but if I use the firmware from LG's website, I am going to follow their directions to flash my drive back to 1.03 correct? You would need to flash the drive to WH16NS40 1.02-MK first as the official LG flasher for the WH16NS40 won't find your drive until it is on WH1...
