Re: Can't get rid of the "Trivia" notes
Several discs I have have a second playlist with that sort of stuff burned in to the video. It’s possible your disc has that and you’ve ripped that version by accident.

Re: Extract Individual Video songs from Bollywood bluray
Those will often be alternate playlists that show up in MakeMKV when you open the disc.

Re: LG WH14NS40 fw1.05
At least some of the time I can get past those by ejecting the disc and putting it back in. Most of the rest get solved by wiping the disc off. Any left over are typically damaged discs, but I think I’ve only had like 3 that fell into that category.

Re: Rip Dolby ATMOS Track without the Video?
MakeMKV doesn’t support ripping audio tracks alone, so you’ll have to rip the video and throw it away.

Re: Good cost efficient start to Blu Ray rip
Some people around here don’t like them, but you can get the LG WH14NS40 for around that price, and they’re relatively easy to flash yourself. That’s what I’ve been using, and it has ripped every disc in my collection (4K, Blu-ray, and DVD) just fine.

Re: Handling DVD "Letterbox" widescreen?
I check it periodically with the hopes that one day it will become more supported (in my case, particularly by Plex), but it doesn’t seem like there is much interest from anyone who would the ability to implement it.

Re: Handling DVD "Letterbox" widescreen?
The MKV format has settings to set a crop on the video track which can be changed with mkvtoolnix. However, in my experience most players either ignore them or handle them in very wrong or confusing ways. If it worked, it would be perfect for that, but I just end up re-encoding.

Numbered regions are for DVDs, lettered regions are for Blu-rays.

Re: mkvmerge --split returns unexpected results
It’s not clear to me what you’re looking for. A merge is effectively just playing two files back to back.

Re: mkvmerge --split returns unexpected results
LosslessCut seems nice at first sight, but costs around 20 euro to download from the MS app store and there is no trial version. The source code on github is free, but do I really need to be a source code developer to trim a video file? It’s free on GitHub, and you do not need to compile it yoursel...

Re: mkvmerge --split returns unexpected results
The trick is that you can’t easily split without a keyframe, since you can’t start the next segment between keyframes without re-encoding at least a piece of it.

Re: mkvmerge --split returns unexpected results
In LosslessCut, on the Export screen, turn off “Keyframe cut mode”. Depending on what you’re doing, you may want to try turning on “Smart cut”, which reencodes only the section between the closest keyframe and the cut point. In my experience, that is usually not required when trimming off the end th...

Re: mkvmerge --split returns unexpected results
It will split at the nearest keyframe, which can potentially be far away depending on the video.
My solution for that sort of thing is to use LosslessCut, which can be frame perfect in more situations: https://github.com/mifi/lossless-cut

Re: Does MakeMKV support CSS-MR discs?
On the other hand the print quality of the cover is so dull, grainy and looks like it's printed on regular A4 paper (no gloss/shine) that it really does look like a bootleg. Not sure what to think :| This alone sounds to me like you got a bootleg, all my real Warner Archive discs have had high qual...
