PAL runs at 25 FPS, NTSC is 30 FPS.

30/25 is 1.2.

That’s just how some NTSC content makes it to PAL land.

Laserdiscs don’t have a file structure, they’re much closer to a VHS tape than a DVD. Your best bet would to hook a Laserdisc player to a video capture card.

Pixar usually includes several versions of the movie with signs and such translated to other languages.

Why not just open the DVD directly in MakeMKV?

I guess I don’t really see the difference between tweaking a bunch of chapters and such in MakeMKV vs doing it in MKVToolNix. Either way you still need to tweak them to match what you want.

I don’t understand why you’re remuxing? You should be able to add chapters to, or edit the chapters of, an MKV file without needing to remux. The chapters tab of MKVToolNix can do it.

Region coding is not stripped away on Blu-rays during ripping like it is with DVDs as they work very differently.

I find MKVCleaver to be the easier way to extract a track (such as subtitles) from an MKV file. If you try to do it in MKVToolnix, it’ll make a MKS file which isn’t what you’re looking for.

No, it doesn’t change the quality.

I feel pretty confident that regardless of what the MKV format itself supports, MakeMKV is incredibly unlikely to ever support this feature.

Maybe VLC updated and reset some settings? Or maybe, for some reason, the first few discs weren’t region locked?

What Billy said. VLC seems to default to region B if you don’t set it to something else.
