Re: The Thing UHD

Did this ever work?

I'm getting the same error on The Thing as well. Is there a way I can check what versions have been submitted before sending my file?

Re: 800.mpls vs 801.mpls

My apologies for not bending over backwards when you’ve provided nowhere near enough information. If you provided what movie you were trying to rip (which you still haven’t), people likely could have guided you as to which playlist to use. All we know is that it’s not a Disney disc. Nothing I’ve sa...

Re: 800.mpls vs 801.mpls

The content on a BD/UHD listed out by MakeMKV are either playlists (mpls), or individual m2ts files. The segment map listed in MakeMKV is the list of .m2ts files that make up the playlist. A playlist, does exactly what it sounds like, it is a list of files (m2ts) to play and in what order. Just bec...

Re: 800.mpls vs 801.mpls

Generally speaking, for Disney disks, it depends on the primary language intended to be displayed. 800 is generally English. Sometimes, particularly on animated disks, signs and such that are in English show up in French or Spanish if you select the French or Spanish translation. Thanks. These aren...

800.mpls vs 801.mpls

Hi all, I've had a few movies lately that had, from what I can tell in MakeMKV, identical titles - a 00800.mpls and 00801.mpls file. The file size, duration, chapters, audio sources, etc. are all the same. So, my questions are: 1. which one should I select? 2. how can I know? 3. what are the actual ...

Re: Convert backup to ISO

Thanks, I just didn't know if I should try changing any of these settings, like UDF 2.6 maybe?

Data Type: MODE1/2048
File System: UDF
UDF Revision: 2.50

Re: Convert backup to ISO

Update: I created a decrypted back of the disc in MakeMKV. I sent the backup folder to a friend via dropbox. He used ImgBurn to create an ISO with these settings: Data Type: MODE1/2048 File System: UDF UDF Revision: 2.50 When I play the ISO on the Zidoo, it says "Can't play video" What sho...

Re: Convert backup to ISO

haha no, I'm doing it right from the disc at the moment.

If this doesn't work (as it seems now that it won't) I'll do it from a decrypted MakeMKV backup. Thx!

Re: Convert backup to ISO

I'm just saving it to the C: drive of the VM, which it recognizes as NTFS. Then I'll copy the file to the Zidoo drive.

Whew!

Then... let's hope it actually plays! LOL

Re: Convert backup to ISO

Yep. Seems correct from a forum post I found: "FAT32 (which external hard disks tend to come preformatted as, for compatibility with Macs) doesn't support files that are more than 4gb each. So ImgBurn breaks up the .iso data and spreads it across as many files as it needs, and combines them usi...

Re: Convert backup to ISO

Hmm, Zidoo drive is also FAT.

2 steps forward, 1 step back. :(

I don't understand this since I have MANY MKV files on the drive that are 50GB+ each

Re: Convert backup to ISO

Not sure what I did wrong, but it created 6 ISO files and 1 MDS file.

I'm guessing that's because the destination drive is FAT. I'll try writing to the Zidoo drive.

Re: Convert backup to ISO

Hmm.. right now my only other option would be to save directly to the drive that's in the Zidoo. I can try that if this fails.

Re: Convert backup to ISO

Which operating system is hosting the z: drive? FAT, FAT32 don't support files > 4GB in size. ExFAT, NTFS do (Windows) . A quick 'google' says MacOS will natively support ExFAT. Most simple solution... whatever OS is hosting z:, format as ExFAT, rather than FAT. The Z: drive is local on my Macbook,...
