Mad Max Fury Road Disc Errors
Hi, I am getting disc read errors on this one and found one old post regarding the same issue. Drive is performing fine. Disc appears scratch free - can anyone please advise if there is an issue with this particular UHD film or have I likely just lucked out with a troublesome disc? I cannot successf...

Re: UHD drives
Big thanks to Alex (jonghotti) for sending me a flashed Asus drive to Australia (Brisbane). Works well and is a heck of a lot faster than my old Asus BR drive for ripping. I'm still messing around with UHD content as a beginner; my projector is 1080p, my oppo UDP-203 can play UHD (disc or network) a...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
THanks for clearing that up. I didn't realise it was more an issue of Mike building in compatibility than LG changing their approach. Seems Asus still have the better product and even a crossflashed LG is better than off the shelf. Given I've never touched my current drive since removing riplock and...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives
Just to make this crystal clear in my mind having read the evolving 32= PGE Thread about friendly and UHD drives and the fw hassles.... LG are now supportive of f/w on the WH16NS60 and Makemkv will read discs in it and rip them the way we currently rip Blu-ray discs..... choosing the movie, audio st...

Re: UHD drives
Thanks for the advice. I guess the low down is grab a drive now and look for a means of downgrading fw if required. Maybe my parents old PC will do.
Worst case I'll buy a $50 piece of crap PC off gumtree and then on-sell it after I'm done

Re: UHD drives
If you didn't jump straight to the end you would see my previous post stating I have read most of this thread! I asked because mine is an older drive and therefore may not have been tested.... and those who are doing the testing may know with some confidence which are *likely* to work or not. At any...

Re: The Original "UHD Friendly Drive" Supplier - at your service.
Alex are you still putting out these units? I'm in Australia so not sure if I should just grab one and flash it myself.... I'm tech savvy but a known working solution is nice to have .
I'll e-mail you....

Re: UHD drives
Decided to check my current drive at home - it's an HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH12LS30
Uncertain if this is capable of reading UHD let alone copying. Haven't got a disk at hand to test it. It works fine with all recent BR media I have placed in it though.
Any thoughts?

Re: UHD drives
Hey folks, writing from Australia and interested in some quick answers to a few things having trolled as much of this thread as I can.... 1. Is the current scenario using UHD Friendly BR drives an interim situation until MakeMKV and UHD drives become aligned? i.e. If I don't *need* a UHD drive just ...

Re: Fast and Furious 7
I think it was when it was saving. I would hit the button to start the scan, which it would do and then those errors arose at the end. I tried AnyDVD HD as well and had a read error. There are 2 movie tracks and I have it for each of them. I cannot see anything other than a very light scratch at the...

Ripping with multiple drives at one time
Hi, I purchased a couple of Lite-on drives to get through a few hundred DVD's I want to make available on my NAS. I use the GUI version of MakeMKV and it is a painful experience with it trying to reset to whichever drive I place a disk in. Mike, you stated some time back (http://www.makemkv.com/foru...

Re: Snow White and the Huntsman
Thanks .
The disc was cleaned and had no obvious damage. I guess a corrupt file can still play but might be a problem for ripping?

Re: Snow White and the Huntsman
Makemkv will onot save a log file - even following oyur instructions. I'm using version 1.8. Copied text from the program (less repeats to reduce characters for post): DEBUG: Code 0 at lj^jzws<Rp!qx54Y.!:S:29394574 The source file '/BDMV/STREAM/00110.m2ts' is corrupt or invalid at offset 4702507008,...
