Re: registering using makemkvcon
Replying to myself... again.... The current beta key still does not work. Makemkvcon on linux refuses to accept it entered via cmdline or via file, with or without quotes, etc. I ended up purchasing a personal makemkv key which makemkvcon accepted. So I can only conclude that the bug lies with eithe...

Re: Spotlight (2015)
Following up. I was able to make an encrpyted backup to my hdd. From there, I used MakeMKV to "open files" locally, which allowed me to decode and rip to mkv.
I have no idea why I couldnt do the typical process, but this is the path I had to take.

Re: registering using makemkvcon
Replying to myself... i tried using the file method, and makemkvcon still refuses to accept the key. Running makemkvcon with --debug or the debug flag set in settings.conf results in a log file with 2 lines acknowledging the creation of the file, nothing more. Definitely seems like license activatio...

Re: registering using makemkvcon
Also still having this problem on linux trying to run headless makemkv.
I ran strace and there's evidence that suggests that makemkvcon reg <key_here> is trying to parse the string as a path, not the actual key.
see attachment.

Re: Spotlight (2015)
It's a BP60NB10 with v1.02. I had it plugged into 2 usb ports, and then I also tried an external wall wart which was rated 1.5A, plus the 500mA from the mobo to push it over the 1.8A spec. It doesn't seem to be related to speed as it reaches 4x for minutes before the unreadable occurs. Wondering if ...

Spotlight (2015)
Spotlight mkv rips seem to fail on this one for uncorrectable error. I've tried two different discs so far, and two different computers. I am trying a different blu-ray drive next. It's odd to me that its always the same error, even on different discs. The drive I'm using has no issues with other BD...
